good to know! so I can keep my points even if I close the card? sorry to sould like a noobie - I dont usually close cards

the only reason you would want to hold onto the cc is if you plan on cashing out for gift cards

IIRC you can transfer UR points to SW so in the future if you needed more SW points you could transfer

What are the fees?
@27.50 per thousand. which is 2.7cpp.  Bad deal.
With the highest level of bonus it's still 20,250 points for $412.50.  2cpp.

When using it for flying, the point are worth 60 points per dollar or 1.67 cents
After 3/31/14 they're worth 70 points / dollar or  1.4 cents

So don't buy points, pay cash  :o

Gotcha. Do you know of a thread that explains the different point values for the different programs?

Aha so it's based on the sell value. And if the goal was to accrue miles? How do you calculate the value of each point? Meaning is 1 avios better than 1 UR for a flight from NY-London? (that was purely an example)

click on the link. Dan has more info.
bad example; your example of crossing to europe has fuel surcharges.
I use avios like candy to get my kids to/from yeshiva, married ones back to me for yomtov, and the like.  Within the US.   So to me avios are gold.  But, I use my Chase cards and gather UR.  Because they can be converted to all sorts of different currencies, including avios, and I want to keep my options open.

1-800-248-4377 is the A List line.
1-800-435-9792 is standard RR CS.

Thanks.
What's an A List line?
You're looking for the Chase CSR number? Or the SW CSR number?
