Update: booked my first companion flight :). How long does it take for the pass to arrive? And if I don't get it before my flight (1.5 weeks), can my companion still come with me?
About a week.

Can you take credit from a few cards and not have any closed?

No, because all of the cards i have are at their minimum CL. I have Freedom, SP, both United, IP. They said they are my biggest lendor and i have the maximum allowed CL as of right now.

May was IP, June was 2 United, so they weren't too thrilled lol.

I'd close down my regular United over my United Club.

I'd close down my regular United over my United Club.

I was all for that, but since the CL on the regular United is 2k and the minimum for the SW is 5K, that was a no go. My Club is 8k

Stupidly i applied for the SW Premier* instead of the SW regular, which probably had the 2k minimum. Blame this on my greed to have the best card of the 2. I'm going to call and ask if it's possible to switch the app to the SW regular and then shift the line from regular United to get approved, but i have to make sure i would still get the 50K as well.

They won't take 5k from the Club card?

Try SM.

What are your CL on each card?

Freedom 2.5k, SP 5.2k, IP 5k, Explorer 2k, Club 8k.

I shifted 1k from both Freedom and SP to get the Explorer approved.

Have reallocation move lines to Freedom and then Recon again.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

CMIIW
The minimum is only to start the card, once you have the card I am pretty sure you could go below the minimum required.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

First off, thanks to Sky, MP, lfas, Red and Dan for advice... I put all the suggestions together and decided to give Chase a call for must have been the 10th time, regarding these SW cards.

1st call was to Reallocation (To put there minimum CL's to the test): Shifted 6k from Club to Freedom

2nd call to Biz Recon: "We would like to see some more usage on the business side and CL sufficient yada yada." Went over the usual options of CL shift, waiting a little while and reapplying to get it approved, but i told her i'd think about it. Because while i was speaking with her i remembered someone saying they are able to shift personal CL to business and not vice versa. SO.......

3rd call to Pers Recon: "looks like your CL are sufficient and Chase doesn't want to give you anymore, but would you like to shift some?" told him i've considered that but based on my travel plans and usage i would like to keep everything where it is. "let me ask you a few questions" "give me a few min and i'll see if we can give you the minimum." "Ok, i was able to get you approved for 2k"  8)  If he didn't surprise me with an approval, i would have shifted the 5k to get the personal approved, then waited for the card to come and reallocated again to get the biz approved  ;)

That just opened up the door for me to shift 5k from freedom to get SW biz approved, without having to close any cards.  ;D

Crazy turn of events!

Thanks again and companion pass here i come!

Congrats on getting the card approved! Persistence does pay off (but may be YMMV with cc's).

Definitely YMMV. Now i feel like these reps hold back a lot times, because this situation shows me that have more pull than they are leading on.

Is it still possible to get this offer. The link from the main page doesnt seem to work for me with IE or Firefox. Is there a different link?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.
