UR to SWA transfers won't count, but that's not "points earned on the SWA card"

But are those Partner bonus points?

Look, there is no doubt it has worked until now, I just thought there might be difference between "spend" and "bonus" points and whether or not the language of the rules could possibly be open to an interpretive change.

UR point transfer is a partner bonus, this isn't CP eligible.  SWA CC points are all CP eligible.
That's all straightforward to me.

The funny thing is that hotel transfers are CP eligible, but I guess that's considered "points earned from Rapid Rewards Partners"

But Chase would not/is not considered a Rapid Rewards Partner? I wonder how they define the two.

Perhaps, but then what are partner bonuses?
spg had a promo recently for a 1000 swa points
that most likely would be a partner bonus

Applied and got rejected for the SW 25K offer. Didn't realize there was an annual fee at the time of applying. I'm not going to bother with recon if there's not any way around the fee. (I'm aware that 25K miles>$69, but I don't travel enough to justify the spending of $69 for the maybe chance I'll fly SW before my miles expire.)

Any way to get the points and avoid the fee?

If you cancel within 60 days you might be able to get the fee back. You can redeem the 25k for giftcards worth much more than $69.

Do the miles hit your account before 60 days? And have they been known to take them back when you cancel?

SW GCs that I would need to resell? Or actual useful store GCs.

Yes (hit quickly, just spend $1 ASAP), No (they don't clawback signup bonuses once they post), I'm sure you'll find some GCs you can use.

Where do you get the 60 days number from? I was under the impression that Chase was 30.

Amex is 60, Chase might be 30 but it's definitely doable if you get the card and post a purchase right away.

I sent an SM inquiring if there is any grace period. Here's their response:

Payment of the annual fee ensures that you continue to
receive the rewards benefits associated with this account.

The fee is refundable if you cancel the rewards program
within 30 days of the statement date on which the fee was
billed. If you cancel the rewards program, you will
forfeit any unredeemed points or miles. You may cancel
the rewards benefits without closing your credit card
account.

Correct about the 30 days, the only points you'll forfeit are points that didn't post to your SW account.

Yep, I was actually asking them about a CO card which I've already used the miles on. So impossible for them to take them back anyway.

They could theoretically put your CO balance into negative, but I wouldn't worry about it.

So, let's say I'll be getting 100,000 RR pts from two cards right after 1/1. I know it's a little bit of a risk that it will still work but it was my only choice. Now I just need to get another 10,000 CPQ pts for a CP. But I won't have many BIS miles and I can't easily rack up 10k on the RR CC since I'm meeting spend on my SPG Amex.

What are the best transfer opportunities to get up to 110,000 CPQ pts? Thanks!

Chase UR to Hyatt to WN but you'll take a hit.

Isn't WN going to be a UR partner in 2Q12? (if mattaudio is willing to wait that long).
