According to southwest the companion pass only starts jan 1st 2013 for a yr , if earned this year. Did they change the rules? because it used to last for this year too and next year

 ???

Link/source?

I see:

Quote
Companion Pass qualification will be based on a calendar year.  A Companion Pass Member will maintain his/her Companion Pass for the remainder of the calendar year in which status is earned, and the entire calendar year immediately following.

Anyone know of an easy way to earn 10k SW (not via transferring UR, and not with CC app) that'll qualify for CP?

I'm 90% of the way, so if there's an easy way I might bite.

I like to know this too. I need 6700 SW points for the companion ticket. Transfer 17K Hyatt points will work, but it is a waste.

I'm assuming no double dip...

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your Southwest
Airlines Rapid Rewards? credit card account and providing
us your invitation number.

Although I am unable to change the enrollment offer on
this account, I have added the 50,000 Rapid Reward Points.
These points will be reflected on one of the next two
billing statements. Southwest Airlines generally posts
the points within a few days, they do request you allow up
to 30 days after the billing statement has closed to post
the points to your Rapid Rewards account xxx.

As the enrolment offer is still on the account to receive
50,000 points after reaching the qualifying spend
threshold, I will monitor this account until January 1,
2013. Once the original 50,000 points have been issued I
will deduct those points as a duplicate issue.

For questions regarding your Rapid Rewards account, please
visit www.southwest.com or call Rapid Rewards Customer
Service at 1-800-445-5764.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

You cannot transfer to MR.

I was referring to "mileage run" and to karen's post.

I can not stand and don't have time for 'mileage run'.  Thanks for the idea though  :)

I opened 2 southwest under one account, closed the account and open a third under a new number. Can I combine the accounts to receive the companion pass?

that was me, southwest allows you to redeem points for Gc's, on walmart.com you can buy visa gc's with walmart gc's (at roughly a 3% loss on $200 increments) you can then cash out gc's via Amazon Payments

With a 3BM, can I apply for 2 Chase Airline cards?

Chase Southwest Visa and Chase Mileage Plus United?
(and, perhaps an Ink Bold, in addition)?

Man needs a lot of travel options for direct flights, explaining both shouldn't be too hard.
