Past first close date or 2nd?
Should be after you hit the spend.

I'm being charged the annual fee for both cards.
Chase would like to see the promo code which waives the first year annual fee.
Please advise...

I've never heard of a promo code waiving the fee for the SW cards. Someone CMIIW.
The 6k/3k annual bonus should make up for the fee anyways.

Somebody asked this 5-6 pages up thread, but I'm going to ask again.

Can I somehow push of the completion of the 2k spending into January to gain an extra year of CP?

Here is my situation. I signed up for two SW cards (one bus and 1 personal). I signed up on August 13. I called chase and they said I had 103 days to complete spend. Thought it was 90 days, but rep confirmed 103 days. This would make the last day that I can spend November 24. Can I spend 1,999 before nov 24, and the last dollar on the 24. I would then call up and change the close date to the 20th. That would make it that it wont post before Dec 20.

How many days past the close date to the SW points usually take to post?
I wonder if this would work.
Close your SW account before the points post, reopen another one in 2014 and call Chase to get the points recredited to your new account. Maybe the points will get stuck when transferring from SW. When they hit your account in 2014, they should count towards the 2014 CP.
Care to try this? :)

I understand that the bonus will make up for the fee, but has anyone been able to get the first year annual fees waived?

I don't want to cancel the card because a credit check was done and I would like to get the mileage.

Cancel after you get the miles.

Cancelling will ruin my credit history. Will try to move the funds over to a new card, but it's too soon.

If you can meet the spend within the first month, you can then move the credit over to a different Chase card. This way you can get the refund and not affect your CS.

I personally had canceled one at the time. You will not lose the points if you do not have the cards. (Assuming you already got the bonus)

if i'm going to cancel one of them and also want to apply for the BA card, should i apply first and call reconsideration right away to offer to move the credit line?

Can someone please help me in Plain English without any initials?! (you can use initials after you explain. for example-SW=southwest) I read about 30 pages of this and still cannot figure out 100% what I need to do in order to get the companion pass.
I signed up for 2 southwest credit cards and did not put in a rapid rewards #. I have one because I travel. How do I get all the points together after I spend $2000 on each card? It seems pretty confusing from all the posts that I read. Can I call them up and put the cards on my Rapid Rewards account or do I have to make a new one? will they automatically assign an account number for each credit card? do I have to transfer the points into other types of points first?
Thank you in advance for your clarification!!!
