Make another one.
That being said, when was the last time you had the card?

I got approved today on the phone with reconsideration.  I prepared which card I would close to get this approved.
First he put me on hold to review the application.  Then he came back and told me the same thing the letter did.  Not enough time passed since my last new card.
He added that the new card is also a SW, like I am trying to open.
I told him that I want different cards for diff types of spending. Like a health savings account (do they still have those?) and other specific types of spending I want separated.  And, I don't mind closing my united card and moving the 10K CL.
[Actually, since my united has a balance we left 2K in united to keep the card open and moved only 8K to the new SW card. ]
Oh, he said, should I put this through reconsideration? Sure.
Ok, then let me review certain information.  He then reviewed the income and home ownership and employment info that was on the application.  Then he put me on hold to put the papers through.
Voila!  My husband is now the proud (if unknowing) owner of 2 SW cards! [That was actually the hardest part- worrying that the rep would notice the 'male' checked on the application.]

Any reports of still getting the 50K offer even though we're past the deadline?

Does the AF on the card count towards the spend threshold? Also even if it does or does not, do you get 99 or 69 RW points when you pay the $99 or $69 AF respectively?

But you do get 6000 miles on your anniversary, so calculate if the $99 AF is worth 6000 miles to you. (Although, it's really 2 year's worth of AFs by the time those 6000 come to you.)

Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to spend on these cards. One of my statements is set ot close in January (why did they set it up o far away?) and the other in December. My goal is to get the companion pass for next year.

If I start charging on the January statement, will ANY points (including those from spend) post before the statement closes in January? I.e. Can I spend $2k+ on it now and receive the bonus points + spend points when the statement closes in January?

Also, for the card that closes in December, I should start charging on that after the December statement closes?

Thanks!

Be careful, I had a January 14th due date on a new card that I opened last week, and yesterday I got a notice my bill is ready and due for payment on Dec 14th!
So any spending that I did (only $17 since I was worried this might happen) is counted on 2013 not 2014.

I would assume it's very easy for them to make you an RR number, and it would be done within one or 2 statements

-0.5 b/c the first $99 should technically be divided up among all the years that you own the card?

Because you can cancel after the retention bonus hits and get back the second $99.

ahhh sweeet! Been debating back and forth whether to close my 2 cards or not. Thanks. Do you know if the free 2 checked bags is a Southwest thing or only if you have an active card?
