Likely from canceling a SW ticket as the taxes/fees used to be 2.50 per leg
Exactly what I was thinking. Since then I learned that even for the $5, I'd rather have 10UR than 10SW points :)

By basic you mean plus?
Same question: Is there another link to the 50k - I already have the premier sw card. Want to apply for the other one.

Just a shout out to Dan the man. I just finished my 18th flight / leg (two were companion tickets) to & from Ft. Lauderdale with two Southwest credit cards totaling 110k miles. Thank you Dan for all that you do!
Maybe someone can explain why Southwest promotes these cards as two trips?? Usually they try to oversell what they are giving away.

I churned the sw and got 50k southwest. When I try to merge the account to my old one they said that I shouldn't have got the bonus and they're sending it to their liaison with chase and I should never received the bonus! What to do?

Uh Oh!
This is as far as i know a first!
I know people who have been denied the bonus the second time, but i havn't heard of people losing the bonus after it posts...

Unfortunately i don't have any advice for you, but please keep us posted as to what happens... perhaps the new plan of action is toi never merge new accounts with old...

Also it's possible they'll just put out an investigation but not take action. Depends on the CSR's mood.

Posted on the CP thread as well.

I want a CP asap, and instead of taking the time to generate 30,000 pts, I want to sign my wife up for a card transfer her points to my account and then redeem a CP.

Will her points count towards a CP?

Never churned a SW card before. Easy with a new FFN?

yes. If you put in the exact info they will automatically sync with old RR account though, so change a few minor details.

Haven't seen any yet. Still a bit early anyway to secure CP thru 2016.
I thought you mentioned before that even using same FFN has worked for you before...

Yes a bit early, but a friend asked.
Yes, several times. But i would still definitely always try and use a different FFN if possible, better safe than sorry!

+1 I have almost enough gained this year that getting 2 more 50K cards should put me over w/o having to do much extra spend after the bonus.

Just a reminder, these points have to be earned within the calender year to be counted towards cp. So if you have old points you'll still want to make a new FFN nd use the accounts seperately.

But if you flew with cash this year and got some miles for it, then you'd want your 2 new cards to post to your current account so it can all be recorded as 2014.

If I have both of SW personal cards (got them in mid 2013) and have not cancelled them yet, what is best way of applying for new one to get 50k offer when available?  Should I cancel my old ones as soon as possible?  Am I limited to business options?

Not that I have experience with SW churning, but I am in a similar situation as you. I had 1 personal and 1 business - opened about the same time as you. I closed them both in the last few weeks/months with the hope of going for new ones at the end of this year. I would suggest you close yours too as it does seem like SW churning is possible. Otherwise, you're limiting yourself to the 2 other cards you don't have + having to explain to reps why you need 4 open SW cards.

The way i look at it i'd rather hustle at the beginning of 2015 to get the whole of 2016 as well. I can't imagine SW will allow the CP to be gotten through CC bonuses forever... The longer i can lock it in the better
