I’m hearing of a shortage is this realy affecting the price?
This year is a problem. Cutting started very late and not that many clean esrogim especially with pitims (referring to chazon ish)
i got such an esrog yesterday at a wholesale place that was open to the public just yesterday in Lakewood for $85- realy nice esrog ( if I find another esrog I can probably resell this for $200 plus)
a wholesale place that was open to the public just yesterday
Blah Blah
Which pardes?
not advertising for them as I don’t realy care but they have been doing this for the last few years here and had big success... it’s only open on Tzom Gedaliah for a limited amount of hours

It would be a bit late to advertise for someone open only yesterday.I can believe that he has been doing this for a few years with success. So are a bunch of others. Their model is to sell a bunch in one day at slightly lower average prices and not need to spend the time of a "full service" seller. The "wholesale" part is simply marketing.
Shipping kills it as usual
IIRC the last many years there has always been " a reason'' why this year the esrogim /lulavim were unfortunately a little more expensive.i dont remember a year where the mochrim were saying wow this was a great year and the price will be commensurately lower.
AP dead or Obi dead?
I've always thought that the real price gouging is at the seller level. You see a guy buys a case of esrogim. All the same price. Then he opens each box, looks at it, and writes 45, or 85, or 200, etc
