Hi just tried sending an sms to Qantas and received this response: "Thanks for your message, check back for a response when you're ready...."

Huh? I'm ready!

It looks like from what I found online (and also in the wiki) that Qantas only charges applicable taxes for infants added to points bookings.  I was just wondering if anyone has actually done this for an award booking on El AL.  Do you book it like normal on the website and then call Qantas (or El Al) to add in the infant?

I'm trying to help my SIL book tickets so TIA!

Did this three times (in both Economy and Business) worked out perfectly.
You need to search for 1 adult + 1 infant when you search for an award booking.
(BOS-TLV Economy)
(BOS-TLV Business)
(TLV-YYZ Business)

Amazing, thank you!  I see it now clearly online.  Wow, what a better system than most airlines AND they don't charge you either a percentage of the points or money fare, another great feature of these Qantas bookings!

As an aside, I'm helping relatives in LA and the LAX-TLV flight seems to have 2 J seats available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Not sure if I am going to take my child with me. Any reason not to book an infant seat now, if he doesnt end up coming with us?

For a few dollars? Probably. Because to add later you'll need to spend some time on the phone or chat (unless you don't mind)

+1, for some reason they didn’t attach the infant correctly to my reservation, had to spend some time in airport till they found it, additionally you can reserve a bassinet.
And IINM you can always cancel and they’ll refund the taxes you paid.

just a DP
You can only book a bassinet in advance if baby is less then 9 months old.
But you call within a week of the flight and they might give it to you

So I did end up helping family members to do this and it all worked like a breeze with the AMEX bonus, the online booking and then using What's app to request seats and the bassinet.  The cost for the infant was only $24.85, which I'm not sure why it was this amount as the taxes for the other people were $57.71 but a great deal so thanks for the DDF help!

If I’m booking PE & Y is there a way to book them together or they need to be booked separate?
