Booking El Al with Qantas - master thread

So... My flight on LY for this Sunday TLV-JFK (booked with Qantas) was cancelled.
I know that all availability is zeroed out right now, but does anyone have any past experience with this?

- Do Qantas still "own" the ticket, and I need to talk to them to get rebooked? Are they accommodating, or do they require award availability on LY to rebook (which of course will be non-existent) and I should just cancel?
- Does LY own the ticket, since it's 24 hours before? Can I have them "suspend" it and ask them to rebook once they open availability?

- Qantas says that it's the operating carrier's responsibility to rebook, Qantas can either (a) cancel for a refund, or (b) rebook in award class only, same operating carrier, origin and destination (doesn't exist, of course)
- EL AL is saying that Qantas owns the ticket and that EL AL can't touch it, and it's totally Qantas's responsibility (which sounds false, since they cancelled my flight!)

So basically, I'm stuck.
Very frustrating.

ELAL Doesn't rebook ex-TLV yet even on tickets booked directly with them until the situation becomes clear. I had an ELAL flight purchased on their website and they also won't touch it yet (except getting a voucher/refund). I'd wait unlit the situation becomes clearer and then reach out again to ELAL

Hey i'm in the same boat, booked through Qantas TLV>EWR and i think im signed up for recovery flight with elal. However havent had any updates as well as elal website is always changing its website. they make no mention of recovery flights anymore. Also their customer service has been driving me nuts been calling them all day and waited on hold for 2 hours and when youre put on hold that long the call drops automatically.
When i try to put in my old booking reference it says "error" yet on qanats i can do a flight change but with major stop overs
