You'd earn on the economy fare it was booked into.
Not true from reports above.

That's assuming it was booked into a rev R fare, which IIRC we've only seen on the YYZ route, and rarely.
Assuming they booked him a Y fare, and upgraded it into R...

YYZ-TLV J is almost always R.

lol 777 is better then Dreamliner
Do we need to teach you how to quote?
its not as bad as a typical angle flat, but the overnight flights sure do have dreamliners operating them, just the availability is more scarce on the 787 operated flights.
Maybe @cooljoe613 wants to chime in on the comfort of the 772s.

I flew elal round trip flights basic economy they credited and gave me 5700 for the flight and then   they credited me 5700 again . I am not sure if you get 5700 a way or 5700 round trip and they made a mistake, this is how the point activity looks.
   LY 27 FLEXIBLE ECONOMY/FLEXIBLE ECONOMY 23-JAN-2019 TEL AVIV/NEW YORK -
5,700
0-
Sun 23 Jun 2019
LY 28 FLEXIBLE ECONOMY/FLEXIBLE ECONOMY 16-JAN-2019 NEW YORK/TEL AVIV -
5,700  showing up under points activity two different routes 5700 for the tlv to ny route and then 5700 from the ny to tlv route, so its confusing.

YYZ-TLV J is almost always R.

R is not a revenue Fare for YYZ its really M with a free upgrade rather then paying the 900 points on NY route. Same reason its free Cancellation as M is free to cancel. If you credit YYZ to LY you will get points for M, seems if you credit to partner wont get anything

I cancelled TLV-JFK within 24 hours, and was charged 6k cancellation fee.
I tried to explain to the SMS agent that the Conditions of Carriage specify (section 5.3):

"In accordance with US Department of Transportation rules, customers who purchase a ticket in the United States for travel on Qantas may cancel their reservations and have their ticket refunded without charge within 24 hours of ticketing when the ticket is purchased one week or more prior to scheduled departure of the first flight in the itinerary."

https://www.qantas.com/us/en/book-a-trip/flights/conditions-of-carriage.html#-fare

The agent responded (see screenshot): "That pertains to a purchased ticket in the United States for travel on Qantas. Where in your flight is with LY"

Is the agent correct, that when booking LY via QF a cancellation fee is charged even within 24 hours?

Or is it because the flight originates from TLV?
My only residence is in the US, which is the address on file with Qantas.
Same goes for my CC and phone number.
Dont think they are correct. Huca or complain to the DOT.
Do we know that DoT 24 applies to awards?
How does AC avoid it?
Did the miles go back to your account instantly?
Had a similar experience, I needed to change flights, and didn't want to cancel because I didn't know how long it would take to get the miles back. Change fee was 6k, so I did it and then texted, got the attached story. I didn't end up following up.

the way I understand it Aeroplan avoids it since the law only applies to airlines while Aeroplan is a travel agency not an airline

Ok. I think I figured out what causes the delayed ticketing. It's flights to/from the US that have an infant.
Reason is that TSA requires them to collect DOB and gender info, and by all passengers there's a "title" field where they can determine the gender from that. Besides the infant, where there's no field for title or for gender.
After multiple bookings in the past few weeks, all tickets were issued within the hour automatically, besides the 2 PNR's that included infants.
On those I received an email requesting critical TSA required info that's missing and that the tickets would be issued as soon as that's added. And in the first case, it wasn't issued until after 72 hours when I called for the second time and put a lot of pressure on them to issue instantly. And the second time is today, where it's already been a few hours since I added the info requested, and nothing.... No points deducted... No cc charge yet.... No ticket numbers. It looks like I might just need to call again (or SMS once I figure out how to use GV from IL)

For a dp- my ticket that was delayed has an infant.
2 other flights I booked without an infant were ticketed instantly.

I am planning to travel to Israel in October and would like to buy a ticket from El Al.

Given the current promo from Amex MR to transfer to Qantas (ultimately booking an El Al flight), I am trying to find somebody who would trade for Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Other than Flyertalk CC (which doesn't allow postings for Amex MR), is there another reputable site where I can find somebody to trade with (yes, I realize that the other person has to be reputable as well).

Thanks in advance.
