Just a data point regarding receiving a refund on the taxes if you paid the $28.20 on an award like I did, but it was really supposed to be $9.60.

I booked a number of award seats on June 17th during the heyday of the Qantas Amex promo.  Towards the end of the month I used SMS to request the refund of $18.60 per award and after some back and forth over a couple of days they confirmed that all would get refunded.  Received some refunds on July 1st and some on July 4th.  There were a few that I was still awaiting the refunds and I probably texted them at least 8 to 10 times requesting the refunds and repeating myself like a parrot over and over again giving them all the requested information.  I finally got the refunds dated July 30th (but I only saw it posted it to my account today because I know that it takes like 3 days for refunds to actually show up on my card).  So b"h I finally got all my refunds on the over-payment of the taxes.

Bottom line lesson is that if you are polite and persistent you will get it back.

I may have gotten a free Business Class Upgrade.
I booked BOS to TLV economy class. After realizing how stupid that was, i contacted Qantas via SMS to upgrade me to Business. Do to the lack of availability (yes i tried looking with stopovers etc.), I'm flying from YYZ to TLV. I never recieved a confirmation email, although when i log into my account it says i have a flight for the correct location and date. After 2 weeks i contacted Qantas via SMS, asking if i actually have the flight, they said its processing, and i should recieve confirmation with in 24 hours. I recieved confirmation with ticket and a credit card charge for taxes this morning at 6am, but the 40k or so points were never deducted from my account. Did i get a free upgrade?

Nope. The points will get deducted eventually.

QF phone reps no longer seeing LY space between NYC - TLV. Heard multiple reports from the past 12-24 hrs. If anyone has been successful via SMS or phone from NYC, please report. Didn't check other LY routes either. Anyone booked LY with QF in the past 24 hours? (Any route)

I wanted to book P class for tonight on LY 1/27 with 63K QF miles.

Called and texted multiple times (took hours...), they only saw the day flight avail (LY7). They did not see anything on the midnight flights, even though it was clearly showing on Matmid site as avail. So so frustrating

I don't think phone and text can ever book within 24 hours of the flight

From speaking to multiple QF agents, seems like QF is not seeing The same space that are available on LY. In X, P , and E class.  But some dates are available thru QF.

I booked a few weeks ago 9 seats thru qantas for elal flight Thursday 1pm in December and I just got an email saying that the ticket was changed to the 8pm flight which arrives 1:20pm in Israel.

Did anyone have a similar experience?
Any advice is appreciated!

Not sure if this is the right place but I've started to notice on 777 routes the back of J allocated to Y due to the lack of J passengers on a first come first serve basis.

For example that's tomorrow's flight out of Boston. It's definitely not the first time I'm seeing this so could be a good way to score J seat at Y price with a bit of luck

I noticed this on the LON route a few weeks ago.
It's not at the price of Y. You need to pay for the seat (I believe they wanted $300 to LON for one way, which isn't such a steal considering J class isn't that much more, and this comes with Y meal and 0 bags if on a Lite ticket.)

Officially yes, but there are times where they don't bother selling them, and it's available on a first come first serve basis through the seat-map. A friend experienced this last month (to London), and I had this (to Thailand)

elal claims I have to call qantas
Qantas first told me they can only offer me a refund (I have nothing from a few hundred K in my account) now I’m on hold with a supervisor who’s trying to contact ELAL
