@ShimonFly What ended up happening? I have the same thing and  would like to change to an earlier flight that does not have availability.

Update: I spoke with QF tonight and they rebooked me on the earlier flight! It turns a 10.5 hour stopover into 4.5 so that's a major win!

Nice! I just stuck with the change as it was a direct flight anyways, I confirmed the change around a week before the flight as a TA told me ELAL sometimes bumps award tickets so I wanted my ticket to be confirmed. Once I confirmed my ticket was reissued (new ticket number) by Qantas.

It was the same flight that I already had a confirmed seat on, ELAL just changed the departure time and Qantas wanted me to confirm the schedule change

Anyone had this it's taking Qantas over two days to confirm LY Y seats ? They said some type error but so far they still didn't resolve it, not ticketed yet since Monday

Is there an infant in the booking? if yes, this is known to be causing delays

tickets, no.. a few hours at most
seats have to be done with LY and they always give you the worst ones

I was able to select a economy seat myself on LY site

 But I couldn’t select seats on website or app, so I called ELAL. They gave me something like row 49 the middle 3 seats of a 3-3-3. I asked if there’s anything better? I was expecting him to say be happy we didn’t give you the toilet seats but of course he said I can pay $200 per ticket for extra legroom.

What better seats were you expecting? You bought an economy ticket and got 3 economy seats seated next to each other. Sounds pretty good to me.

Was those seats not showing online on the seat map?

Would like to change flight to the next day (that has few seats together open) which shows coach seats available but elal claims they cannot change it because it was a qantas classic award and qantas needs to do it and they claim they have no classic award on that flight even if it shows on the elal seat map open coach seats, so no help from either side, any ideas how to get it done?

Why should that be doable? Qantas just doesn’t have open award space on the one you want. If there is for new bookings, you can change.

Looks like booking with Qantas on elal is very strict only Qantas can make changes and it's impossible to make a change after because no available rewards seats even if it shows on elal seats are available.

See open coach seats, how can I see or know it's award? Really wouldn't matter Qantas will not contact elal if they don't have it or see any open classic rewards there is nothing they can do.

Again, if there isn’t Qantas-elal award availability, there’s no way to change. Not sure why you think you should be able to. If there is, no one has to call elal, it’s a simple change.
