PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

Can Chase tell if the applicant is a zochor or nekaivah?
I just called Citi about my wife's AA card and the fellow apparently realized that he was supposed to be speaking to a woman even though my wife's name could be a man's name.

If when I applied originally my app said 2 weeks and 2 days later it says 7-10 business days, whats that suppose to mean?

Also is it best to try to get the card approved as that's a better mark(score) on your credit report? Or if you wait out 2-3 months and apply again will that be better or because it's another credit pull best to play HUCA and get approved ?

Applied for Biz SW and Ink a few weeks ago.  Just got the SW card in the mail but I got a letter last week denying the Ink.  Is it even worth my time to call?  Way over 5/24.

Yes- call. I also was way over 5/24 but I did 1 business and 2 personal at Chase. Auto approved for 1. Called in yesterday on INK and right away said I don't want more credit but want to close a different Business card to open this one. Asked a few questions, nothing about the business and got approved. Then I called about the personal and moved credit and got that one, too.

For personal branded cards, have people had more luck lowering total credit for auto approval or moving cl over in recon?

IME, lowering. When I was at 45% of credit to income, I had trouble getting approved. Lowered it to about 38% and got two auto approvals same day.

So it depends--what are you at now?

39%,  I havent tried personal, I have been having a hard time with SW biz- going for CP, but I just got another ink, so.... I think I will lower it, down to 35% and then go for a handful of personal. thoughts?

I have been under 20% and didn't get auto approved. It's heavily YMMV and probably dependent on a few different factors.

Is the 5/24 rule set in stone? Or can I get auto approval even if I'm over that?

I'm talking about chase cards not cobranded. Unless you are trying to tell me that it's all the same now.

If preapproved, you may get auto-approval by applying with a banker in a branch.

I'm not sure if you need to be a CPC member though, so YMMV.

A banker applying helps my chances of preaproval? I was under the impression that the application itself is the same as online (with no option for mbm'img  ;) )

Ok, today is 91 days since I last applied for cards. I applied for 2 Chase cards 3 months ago, United Explorer 50K and Southwest 50K. Got both though Southwest took a month of calling to get it.

Is it worth trying for 2 more cards today, if I just got 2 Chase cards 3 months ago? Want to take advantage before 5/24 goes into affect. Or should I just go for 1 and maybe try to get a Chase Ink, since they seem to be approving even if way over 5/24? I have 4 Chase consumer cards total, and 1 business card. Also have a Chase checking and savings account.

Thanks.
