Why can't you call about both at the same time? I got approved for 2 denied apps in 1 phone call.

Ask them the reference number from each rejection, then HUCA and tell them you want them to recon. ref. number *******.

IME, Once they open your file they'll see both applications anyway , so no need for the hassle....

Do rental inquiries carry the same weight as credit card inquiries?

I had a pending United app. SM response was to call in. Called in and had 3 different reps tell me I can't apply for a card I've previously had. Never had that before.
Going to head back to SM and try try again.

1) My wife called Recon and was told that since shes listed as an owner on my Sapphire card she cant be accepted for her own. I clearly put her as an authorized user. Im obviously gonna HUCA but any idea what to do about that?

2) Also while she was at it, my wife asked to split the credit from the accepted BA (which was 6500) to the Southwest to get it approved. The rep said that she would need 5k on the BA and 2K for the Southwest and since she only had 6500 approved she cant do it. Anyone have success with a similar situation? TIA

YMMV some reps wont make a issue, but some may fwd your case to the fraud dept., the best think to do is you can have your wife tell them she wants you to talk for her.

My Question was do they have a any of that from credit report etc as if you have a real yiddish name they cant tell from the name

2nd SM did the trick. Unfortunately I guess they didn't pull my credit the first time at all because "I had already had the UA card" so they did after my last SM.
Oh well.

My Chase recon calls have become to resemble Barclays recon calls. Whenever I got something, it was on the first call. The rest are parroting.

A few months ago, I did.
Though, in my (wife's) case, they are still arguing that her history isn't long enough (under a year) and that she applied (and approved) for too many cards. Most are stupid cards. She doesn't have yet a single Chase card.

I have had some issues getting my wife approved as well. She has a SS for a little over a year and i have been adding her as an AU on my cards to build her credit. She was approved for two Amex cards a couple months ago and was recently denied for a couple Chase cards. Chase says her credit is great, just they don't does not like to see someone apply who is an AU on 10+ cards in the past year. Not sure if that is a line they are feeding me or not, but i am removing her as an AU from most of the cards now.

My experience with Chase is that being an AU isn't beneficial at all, maybe detrimental. Other banks are different.

Detrimental may be a bit strong. But no amount of HUCA or SM'ing was able to get them to budge on approving a card for the wife.
