Detrimental may be a bit strong. But no amount of HUCA or SM'ing was able to get them to budge on approving a card for the wife.
Same here. AU didn't help matters at all.

But did it make it worse is the question?

For me, it sounded like because of her being an AU on many cards was the reason they would not approve her.

No indication of that. They just wouldn't give notability to the fact that she was an AU.

I applied for southwest personal and business, right before the bonus offer ended. I called for each cards status and I went through some questions for the business which they were unable to approve me for. That was due to me just getting IP and newly started business, so they wanted to see more establishment. On the personal they were unable to approve me due to my credit lines with chase and them being my biggest lender.

I just got United Explorer and United Club. I'm guessing I don't need both, so should I close the Club and shift the line to get SW personal approved??? Or should I call recon again to try and get them approved???

So i read many posts about chase reconsideration, i had 3-4 authorized user accounts (with credit limits of more than 20000) in my name but no actual personal credit cards.
I also have a chase checking account and an account with $11000 in a savings account for more than 3 months.
I was told to do a 3BM and applied to a chase Freedom, United and Saphire credit card.

I was denied and called up the reconsideration line immediately. On the second phone call i spoke to a nice guy who approved me for the freedom credit card for a $500 credit limit.
I called seperately for the other two and was told i am denied and have no chance of getting approved as i have too many inquiries (the 3BM) and not enough history as Authorized User is not taken into consideration.

I called the executive offices and the regular reconsideration credit annalist numbers around 5 times and i get the same response.

I even went to a branch manager and they called for me and they said no.

Should i just be happy that i got my first credit card in my name and wait 6 months to apply for a different credit card?
(next time i think i have a better chance if i apply for 1 at a time.)

I think the 3BM works against you, why don't i just apply for 1 credit card at a time?
How long should i wait too apply for a next card and what cards should i apply too?

How do i double my credit limit in a short time?

Thank you for your help.

Did a 3bm w Chase (SP, BA, and Freedom) Fri in NY, got one pull on ex.  :) Think I was declined for two with only one pending.  :-\ (called the 800 number, two cards said 7-10 days, only one said two weeks)
Called today, was declined for all 3, too many inquiries and/or too many accts w chase. Considering I only had 3 inquiries and no accts w chase, the rep told me to drop one app and see what we could do. Dropped the freedom, got approved for the other two. Called back an hr later, asked about the freedom, said too many apps in a month, why do I need so many. Said st about joining Chase etc. he asked me alot of q's about job and income, put me on hold and approved. So another 3bm success!!  :) :)

Which department did you sent the secure chase email to?
I just received a response that my credit transfer request will be forwarded to the correct department, which could take 7 days, or I could call 1-877-882-1890, but this # isn't the same reconsideration # that Dan has listed on the site.

I called the Recon Dept and they said my wife wasnt approved for SP because she was a joint owner (thought she was an AU) on my SP and she cant get two of the same account. So i made her into a AU instead.
The rep said that since she was a Joint Owner at the time she applied, the system didnt pull her credit at all and she cant be "reconsidered" rather she would have to apply again or they would pull it over the phone.
Since it was done with a 3bm cant they just look at her credit report that the other cards pulled? Or is it too late?  TIA.

Applied for Freedom and BA (2br) and got both rejected because "Too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us".
I only have Ink Bold which I got almost 2 months ago. At that time I also applied for Ink Plus, which was denied.
The only other thing I have with Chase is my mortgage which was transferred last month from my mortgage lender.
What should I tell them at recon? Should I call for both together or one at a time?
Thanks!!

Thank you! But do you think they will have a problem with the mortgage?
