PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

I use all my cards a little bit here & there so it shouldn't collect dust.

So is THAT the trick? Is that what I am doing wrong?

Do you by any chance know how many inquiries you have?
What's normal, and what's considered to many
17 new cards in the last year and 10 inquiries in the last seven months- I dont know whats normal I know there are those who have more than me and those that have less- i genuinely dont understand why chase has been so difficult

You sure? I think that if you give reference number all they see is that app as opposed to pulling it with your social they be like so which one of these 10 apps you calling about. Not to say that when they pull it up with the reference # they can't see the other apps its just not sticking out in their face like that.
+1
When I gave my ssn I've usually been shot down straight away, I've had a lot more luck with the reference #

Wow! I doubt he remembered you, he probably saw it in the notes
Did you SM already? If so, what was their response?

No, I told you. It was AFTER the hold. She checked her notes. She didn't realize it until after the hold.

You can do both. I usually write down the name of the recon rep, so when the same rep picks up again I just HUCA right away and save some time.

multiple credit cards
« Reply #5753 on: June 20, 2014, 12:26:45 PM »
I applied to multiple credit cards from chase bank a few sec. After each other. I applied for all 3 in  in Google Chrome in 3 Seperate tabs and forgot to do it in 3 Seperate browsers I. E. Firefox chrome Explorer. I got accepted to the first one but the other 2 are pending. Any ideas on what to do to get accepted or did I automatically mess up by applying for all 3 cards in one browser so close together

The 3 browser method increases your odds at instant approval, however there is no reason that you shouldn't be able to call recon and push through the other 2.

I made this same mistake once.  A learning experience.  Although for me, they only got the first application.  The other two didn't even register...

Which means call recon today. If they do not have the apps, you still have time to get it in today for the same pull.

I applied for an IB yesterday, and was declined. I called in today, and thought chase business lending would be open, but was wrong. I would like to try to reconsider over the phone before sending a SM.. does sending an SM now make any sense? I assume no one will look into the SM until Monday.

Thanks

This has always been my approach. I give the reference #, pause for a few seconds, and then immediately jump in to a recon request.

"Hi my reference # is 123456789...... letter says I was denied due to too many open accounts, can you shift credit from my __________ account ending in 1234 in order to open this one?". No wild stories, just straight to the point, and it works for me every time.

This worked for me last year on my Ink Plus app. I called and right away said, "I want to close my SW Business card and open the Ink Plus." Rep said please hold and came back and said approved.
