Call CS 1-888-338-2586 or 1-800-432-3117 and press # or 1. (If it's asking for your full 16 digits account number, it's 1. If it's asking for only your last 4 digits, it's #)

7-10 day message on the business application line does not mean a denial.

No matter what the status of your app is or what the page said after you hit submit or what Chase emailed you, etc... CALL TODAY! Any "pending" issues can either be addressed once you get your letter in the mail in 2 weeks, or you can JUST CALL TODAY!
And if at first you don't succeed HUCA, HUCA, HUCA etc. If they tell you there's a max of 2 cards per 30 days, HUCA!
PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

I know recon isn't open on the weekends. Maybe they were just closed for Labor Day?

I don't think you have to be :( I don't recall seeing any reports recently that recon after the date of the application should result a second pull and of course, you can confirm it with them before they place you on hold.

When I called -the 7th call- 3 days after my app and asked the rep not to pull again he answered of course, there's no need to pull again as I have a copy of your report from just 3 days ago.
I try my best :-\

Here's to hoping you're right (and to hoping that I don't have to make 7 calls.)

I've also applied on Sunday and called recon on Monday without  a second pull, just two applications approved.

Offering to shift credit from an existing card is usually the best way to convince a recon rep to approve you.

Last time I applied (June), this thread was all about Chase recon cracking down (esp for business cards) since the reps all said we see you applied for 3 cards today, and people were discussing the idea of instead of going for a 3BM, apply for 1 card, call recon if needed and deal with it, then the same day apply for card 2, recon if need and then go for card 3.

Any recent updates on that idea?

Whew! They really put me through the wringer...

First, can you explain why you need so many cards? You got the Sapphire Preferred in May, and now you want the United card AND the Marriot card? Why?

And they want to know why I have 7K of outstanding debt (note: none was due yet). (B/c I haven't paid my bill yet, duh!) I didn't know they can see what I owe on my amex cards...

Then, we need to transfer some of my credit. I ended up taking a bunch of credit off the SP card, lowering it to $4500. She said it might lose some benefits. Does that mean it's turning into a regular Sapphire card?

But at the end of the day, I got my marriot card.

Who says it takes no work to get free stuff?

And they say "which card are you calling about"?

Or you can wait til you get the letter that has a ref#.
