PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

If all else fails, make a purchase/purchases on each of your new Chase cards, then pay back before the statement closes, then HUCA since at this point you've proved yourself responsible. The app should stay open for 30 days...
Thanks,
I read somewhere that offering to close an existed CL will sometimes shift them to approve you, is that a bad idea...if all else fails?

It may help if you apply for new cards, but i can't imagine it will help after an app has been submitted.

It could still work. That's the whole thing about HUCAing, 1 guy says no, another says no and another says yes.

Agreed.

I could be wrong, but i thought i read the later comment to mean that he would cut off some credit and then call back. To that, i said "It may help if you apply for new cards, but i can't imagine it will help after an app has been submitted."

Either way, HUCA.

I misunderstood. In that case, you're correct.

Can't hurt to try. Once the pull is there and the app was put in, you don't have much to lose.

If I did not get instant approval for both the Southwest Plus and Southwest Premier (did 2bm), how should I deal with recon? This is for my wife, she has good credit, has a couple Chase cards currently (Freedom and United MileagePlus Explorer), and is an AU on my Chase Sapphire Preferred as well as Chase BA cards. TIA!

first see the reason and deal with it accordingly, Move credit if have to, or close one of the other cards if not needed.

Solid points. Will speak with recon on Monday hopefully. Maybe they'll let us move the freedom CL over. Thanks!

some sources have reported that CSR was able to transfer CL from personal cards to open a business card. i've tried this once but was denied even after a couple HUCA and greeted with "i see that you've talked to a rep earlier"

anyone have suggestions or insight on this?
