I can't seem to find the INK plus thread so I figured since everyone is basically utilizing this thread for the ink because the limited time sign up bonus which I got involved in I can ask here. I got my card with a 5k CL but it says on the papers that came with the card that it has a no pre-set spending limit. Is that like amex's no pre-set on credit cards that essentially turn it into a charge card because you can spend more than your CL?

Applied for Slate and Freedom with 2BM. Slate was denied, they told me that I was too close to my credit limit on a different (non-chase) card. Now I discovered that they approved the Freedom card. What's up with that? I'm especially frustrated because I really want the Slate for the balance transfer. Would the Reconsideration department "switch" my approval from one card to the other?
it's possible, you can certainly try
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Or ask them to close down the freedom, and move the credit to the slate card.
Or leave some on the freedom and transfer the amount you need (obviously if you don't need the full amount for the slate.)

Just sounds better to close and move instead of switching the approved application

Good luck!

The other option is to just use the freedom for regular spending and only pay the minimum on freedom while paying up your other card (or vgc unloaded via rc)

I've been having terrible luck on both personal and biz.
They tell me that I have too many new accounts in the last year (I think they mean overall, not Chase specific), and won't entertain any possibilities of moving credit, canceling a card, etc.

I applied for a sapphire a few minutes after downgrading my previous sapphire. I got a denial letter bec I already have this card. I called recon explaining that I actually downgraded the card before I applied. He offered to reconsider the app but he said I will not be elligible for the signup bonus since I just had the card. DROPR situation?

If you get approved for the sapphire you get the points. You should wait longer than a few minutes though.

+1

Lucky he didn't just start the process of re-opening the downgraded one. Also, way too much of a hassle going through their questioning if they do want to know why you want a card you just downgraded moments ago.

When I SM about getting approved they keep sending me this.

"In order to better assist you, I have forwarded your
request to the appropriate department for review. You will
receive a response to your email within seven days. If you
require immediate assistance, please contact
1-877-882-1890 and one of my colleagues will be able to
assist you.

I appreciate your patience. If you have any further
questions, please reply using the Secure Message Center."

That number is for lending services. Will they approve me for an IP or just tell me to call biz recon ?

I meant that if I wanted to expedite it, Id call Biz Recon. Then again, many have mentioned that, especially with Ink, just waiting it out is the better idea. Why? They tend to approve often and Biz recon for Ink can be a major PITA.

I already got the denial letter. I wanna try everything other than biz recon. I hate dealing with them.
