Chase Fraud # 2: 1-800-278-8830
(If you have a fraud alert on your account, recon will instantly transfer you here for verification, so you might as well call directly)

To fax in verification documents:
#1: 888-643-9624
#2: 888-643-9628
#3: 201-328-3289 (according to a rep from this dept, it's quicker than the other listed numbers)

Chase CS #: 1-800-432-3117

To know whether your application is pending or declined:
Call CS 1-888-338-2586 or 1-800-432-3117 and press # or 1. (If it's asking for your full 16 digits account number, it's 1. If it's asking for only your last 4 digits, it's #)
Press 3, then 1, then key in your SSN.
If you hear:
This application is being reviewed. You will be notified in writing of our decision, in approximately 2 weeks
It's pending.
If you hear:
This application is being reviewed. You will be notified in writing, within 7 to 10 business days, of our decision
It's been declined.

Business cards application status: call 800-453-9719.

7-10 day message on the business application line does not mean a denial.

No matter what the status of your app is or what the page said after you hit submit or what Chase emailed you, etc... CALL TODAY! Any "pending" issues can either be addressed once you get your letter in the mail in 2 weeks, or you can JUST CALL TODAY!
And if at first you don't succeed HUCA, HUCA, HUCA etc. If they tell you there's a max of 2 cards per 30 days, HUCA!
PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

In the last two weeks there have been numerous data points here and on flyertalk (see last few pages within the thread pasted below) of people getting denied for Chase cards and being told during the reconsideration call,  that it is due to too many recent cards, not necessarily Chase cards, but ANY cards during the last TWO years.  It would certainly appear that Chase is cracking down on churners or people they suspect are playing the churning game.  What's odd though is that some people that are denied only have 4 inquiries or so in the last 2 years which is quite minimal; not sure why Chase would not approve them assuming income, credit score etc are high. Anyway, I definitely think times are changing and it will no longer be easy for people to consistently be approved for 3 or 4 Chase cards per year, especially if they are applying for cards from other banks.

I had an impossible biz recon call where he listed off like every chase and non chase card since beginning of 2014 as a reason of denial

HUCAd 3 times. spoke to supervisor. no budging. I have too many accounts opened since 2014. i offered to close one of my current cards to no avail. (I did get approved instantly for the united card though)

Do people think that this may be a trigger for for an AA? If so are there any steps I should be taking to try and avoid that? Perhaps closing one of my chase cards?

Did 2 biz UMPE and INK Plus and 2 personal UMPE and MArriot pulls today. Called status line and heard 1 out of 4 was pending and others seemed declined. Called Recon he updated all cards that were declined with all the info why they were declined, i.e. too much new credit blah blah blah. Seems like the UMPE biz was pending and is now on to higher review.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

UMPE biz has been the only card I was unsuccessful churning with Chase IIRC . Going to try again very soon.

I AM WITH CHASE 35 OR MORE YEARS -- have an excellent banking relationship -never was denied a card --until today
in past no problem to move credit around -cancel a card --GET APPROVED- have now and for many years 9 -11 cards open one of them open 25+ years

i was told "new policy" ( not chase -all cards )to many credit cards in last 24 months ( 25 cards)- escalated call 2x told can not override system

will try later or tomorrow calling - but gut tells me - waste of time --I will not give up - just some info to think about

Not your case specifically but a lot of people have been getting the "too many cards recently-not just chase". Wonder if it has to do with all the au's being added recently & reports of it being reported.

so stocked, applied for the chase ink plus (haven't applied for anything in like 6 months +) and was approved (after calling recon) with a nice size credit line too. the rep didn't even ask me any question, just verified some information and i was approved.

Just got shot down harshly for second HUCA in two days...when I persisted, CS mentioned that the notes indicated the earlier call and how CS had already given me same reason for rejection....not sure this one is going to go thru :(
