PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

Are you sure? Does that mean it's still going to be one pull?

Yes, they look at the original report that was pulled when you originally applied.

I want to close down a chase card and move the credit line to another chase card, and they transferred me to credit lending and told me that they would need to do a soft pull on my credit before consolidating the credit (i huca'd and got the same response).
Has this happened to anyone? Is there a problem with a soft pull with chase, if I am planning on churn the very same card (sapphire, which I have done many times) next week?
Thanks!

A soft pull isn't anything to care about.

So of my 3bm, they're only approving 2. I huca'ed to no avail. They did offer to switch one card they approved to the one they declined, which i want more. Is that bad for my credit if i were to open a cc and close it right away? They're not shifting credit, just closing one and opening another.

They are shifting credit. Your essentially moving all the credit from one card, and putting it onto another card. It's all good.

If you accept the switch you are forever giving up on going 3 for 3... I've suggested multiple times around here what you need to do.
1) Spend $ on the two cards. (the more the better, of course)
2) Let statement close with $ owed.
3) Pay it back, all of it.
4) CA (make sure this step is done with under 30 days from 3bm - if it's going to take more than 30 then you need to call recon and get an official denial to extend)
Worked for me, so one point for this works... Did anyone try and it didn't work?

If the card is a signature, then no.
