PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

I have HUCAd numerous times, different people, different times of day. The "too many accounts in the last 2 years" seems to be completely non-negotiable.
Today one guy actually started asking me questions about my income etc. so I thought I may have a chance. But in the end it was just same old story. :(
Maybe wait a week or so and try then. Try Twitter, try SM.

Has anyone reported success with this particular issue after sending a SM?

my post #7256  up thread

looks like it is written in stone--I tried to push thru with my Chase banker who is the branch manager -- she tried - received this e/m from her

"SPLP, I escalated the issue we were speaking about yesterday and was told it was declined and unfortunately nothing further could be done"

When I feel I can afford an extra pull ( if ever) I will try for a Chase partner card and not a Ultra Reward

The DoC is saying now that applying in branch and having a chase deposit account and having the banker call is the way to go these days. Just food for thought.
P.S.- some say having $10k in a chase account is also helpful.

Freedom   Pending Verification.
Anything I need to know before calling the verification dept (888-688-6708)?

They told me they can't approve anything until the Freedom is verified.

Hey. I'm in the same situation, helping my mom get a few Chase cards. I called the regular recon number to check the status of the application and was told I had to contact the Verification Department at 888-688-6708. What did that department ask you? Are you only asked to call that number if you're basically approved and they just want to verify it was really you applying for the card? This department isn't open on weekends - that's why I haven't talked to them today.

Is anyone else familiar with the Chase Verification Department? Thanks

IME, that's all they wanted.

Nice! I hope that's the case. I did a 2BM (UA MP Explorer (Auto-approved) + Freedom (pending)) and then later that day helped her apply for the CSP (pending, need to call the verification department). Hoping to get the CSP approved as a first priority - the Freedom is secondary at this point.

Hopefully they already did the 3 Pulls and won't do any more.

Will Chase let you reactivate a closed card? Is it a 30 day policy?

Got a really nice rep willing to do it, even after 30 days, but she explained bc I consolidated credit before I closed, there wasn't sufficient credit to reopen the account--even by moving credit back. Ill huca.

3BM for Ink Plus, Ink Cash, and United Biz.  Ink Plus was approved automatically.  First call to biz recon for the Ink Cash failed (too many new cards opened in the past year, blah blah blah).  Second call to biz recon for the United Biz was a breeze.  Before the rep could tell me why I was denied, I cited that I don't need additional credit, just need the card because I fly United all the time and having the card will save me $100 in bag fees per round trip.  Recon rep split my Ink Plus credit to open the United Biz.  Will call to recon the Ink Cash in a few days.
