Any cause for worry that the rejection letter referenced the CHASE SAPPHIRE Visa Signature credit card instead of the Sapphire Preferred?

My rejection letter said the same thing.  When I called Recon I asked if it specifically was the Sapphire Preferred card I'd be getting and the rep said it was.  Six days later I got a Sapphire Preferred card in the mail.

Do I call Credit Reallocation Specialist, Credit Analyst Recon, or Application Recon?

IME I started with Application Recon and then went to the Credit Analyst Recon.  I never had to go beyond that.

SUCCESS! I called Credit Analyst Recon and asked if I can move over some of the CL from my CO $20K CL. Jason replied "I see you applied for Freedom on the same day but let me see what I can do". Put me on hold for 20 seconds, came back and asked me how much would you like to switch over, minimum of $5K maximum of $15K. I moved $15K over because I am closing CO anyway to avoid the fee. He said I'll get a letter notifying me of decrease in CO in 7 days and the actual Sapphire card in 2 weeks. (He couldn't verify if it was Preferred or not; just said it was whatever I had applied for.)

Only took 1 call of 3 minutes 46 seconds for the whole thing. Thanks so much for everyone's help! Always read the stories but I am now firmly a believer.

I did a 3bm SP SW and Freedom, got declined for SW and freedom for too many credit requests and for the SP they wanted proof of SS# birthday and address.
1) Anybody ever have to send in proof like this?
2) When they get the proof do you think i'm still going to have to fight for the card?
3) Should I wait to hear from them about the SP before calling recon about the other 2?

Well I didn't get any answers.  :P

First step was a 50 shekel pledge to tzedaka.  ;D

Call 1) I sent in the info they requested and was approved for the SP.

Call 2)  For the freedom card, he claimed that a credit pull was necessary since this was outright declined and not even considered and no pull was ever done (I prob should have done a HUCA). I then got an instant approval.

Call 3) For the SW she claimed it was impossible to get, too many recent accounts.... I told her to close my CO and move the credit line over. She put me on hold for a few minutes and then came back with; as i recommended  ::)  the CO CL can be moved over to open this account (I guess she needed a little ego boost after the impossible claim).

How many active Chase cards did you have (in total) before your 3bm?

Active, just CO and UA. Closed accounts there are a whole bunch, this is my wife's account and my F-I-L has been playing the game for many years. It could be by the third phone call she happened to see all this, and maybe that's why she started out hostile.

Ok guys I need help with this one:

Called reconsideration and they said they can approve my continental card but I would have to close my old one from 2004 - My oldest card I beleive.

Is it worth the credit hit for 30k miles? Also they offered to switch me to untied card but in doing so they don't know if I will get the same bonus. Is the United 25k bonus standard or is it only through one of our links. thanks.

Others can chime in, but I personally would not axe my oldest CC line for 30k CO miles.

i applied for the SW premier card for my wife about 2 weeks ago.i got a letter back that she was denied due to insufficient credit history(she never had a card before).my question is like this-is there any possibility they would approve her with the argument of "she couldnt have history bec she never had a card" and that we have a nice amount in a joint acct with chase,or am i wasting my time?

Just did my wife's first-ever 3BM a couple hours ago for Freedom + IB + CSP.

Called personal recon line, got a nice rep who for for some reason was unable to find the application by APPID and I was forced to give her the social. Unsurprisingly, she asked why I applied for three cards at once. After an explanation, she pushed through both the CSP and Freedom.

Haven't called the business recon for the IB yet.

En route to 130K UR.

I did a 2BM for my wife, SW and Sapphire. Before applying, I canceled her CO card, and left her BA card open.
She was approved for the SW, and reconsideration told us that they couldn't approve her for the SP since she already had 2 (SW and BA) in prior 6 months.
In the end, I canceled the BA, and they gave her the SP.

Is this an official policy that they only allow 2 new accounts in 6 months, or was she lying? I need to know to decide if I have to wait 6 months to do another round for her.

Also, can she do biz applications w/o this issue coming up?

In case you don't understand why, you should read this thread. To save you some time, you could have used that credit line as bargaining chip in getting Chase to approve your application.

I just had a banker call recon on my behalf, successfully pushed through my two SW apps (from recent 2bm). Got a fresh 5k CL on one, and had to close a card for the other. She had a hard time with the second call!, but she just did what I would do, HUCA 8)

Congrats. Do you have a banker with whom you have an established relationship, or did you just use the $10,000 leverage?
