I called recon, the rep told me he made notes and now I need to wait for a senior lending person to sign off on it. Is there any point in calling back?

Applied for CSR on Sunday in branch. Got 7-10 day message. Called recon (was like hitting a brick wall) and was told denied because of 5/24. I became CPC later this week and tried having banker call recon, but he too was given 5/24 reason as well. He was told by lending services that since the application was done prior to me being CPC they will not reconsider. They said I can try reapplying and may have a higher chance of approval now that I'm CPC. I don't understand why applying post becoming CPC would make a difference since the CPC status is now on my accounts and I applied less than a week ago. Is it worth HUCAing recon or just take the loss and wait until I'm pre-approved now that I'm CPC?

So acc to wiki if you get pending 7-10 it's declined.
So far, I know of two reports today of 7-10 and it was just verification.

Has anyone else had this?
Perhaps Chase changed their system...
When I called today it said 7-10 days. I called and they said they need to verify. I then spoke to a rep who told me I had 5/24. I explained that most of them were au. She said it doesn't matter, it's still credit lines that I have access to. I argued with her but she wouldn't budge. I finally asked if she can move credit from other cards, which she agreed to do. Approved!

Applied today for CSR got instant approval for 10k CL. then applied for Ink and was pending. called in, rep said declined due to too many open cards and request for credit. (not 5/24)
would HUCA help? also any chances to get approved for different card (to utilize the pull)?

They can see on the report if he's an AU or not, No point in lying about that.

Psa chase reconsideration takes down notes from every call, much like Barclays. Essentially killing the HUCA method. They specifically mentioned that I had already called multiple times, and there was nothing they can do to have it reconsidered.

That's the norm with chase. You wait a few days and try again.

Why does that help if they have notes on account?

Just applied and the automated message says:
This application is being reviewed. You will be notified in writing, within 7 to 10 business days, of our decision.
But the email says:
Thank you for submitting a credit card application to Chase.

Here's what you can expect next:

We'll let you know of our decision through U.S. mail within the next 30 days. Please don't resubmit this application while waiting for our decision.

If we approve your application, we'll send your card and other important information to you by U.S
mail. Once you receive your card, call the number on the sticker right away so you can take advantage of everything your card has to offer.

If we don't approve your application, we'll send you a letter explaining why.

Thank you for applying for a Chase credit card

Rep. says it's pending. Is the info in the wiki still accurate? Can it be it's pending even though the automated message says the above?
And if it's pending, is it preferable to call, or to wait a bit (CSR <5/24)?

You can keep trying.

All about the rep you get. Some won't look at the notes properly, some are nice and some will read them and tell you to take a hike.
She no doubt took notes but that doesn't mean your next rep will read them and care.
When I call recon I first listen to the tone of voice the rep answers the phone... If I don't like it I just hang up... It can take me over 5 calls till someone answers with a cheerful tone :)

Wondering this too.  I called and they made it sound like I could move credit around to open the account but still get that automated message when I call for the application status. I think it still means its declined. I called recon again and they confirmed it was declined again.

Application is pending. What are the chances of getting approved without calling? Recon said I have to wait it out nothing I can do over the phone.

Update got approved without any further calling.

Applied for CSR in branch and got rejected for 5/24. I was told this was a final decision. I then got Private Client the next day and the CPC banker said he was told that I had to call in for reconsideration. I spoke with the agent and answered some questions about employer and income. After a 5-10 minute hold, he told me that my application will be re-reviewed and I'll get a decision in the mail in 1-2 wks. He said they're too busy to take inquiries by phone regarding status. For those who got the "you'll hear from us in 1-2 wks" line, what has been the success/failure rate?
