Let me know if they will approve you wife without recon, becuz i wanna do the same with my wife, she also has no cards with Chase so far.
The wife got approved for CO without recon. I called recon and got her approved for UN by using 5k of the 20k from her CO card. They would not approve Sapphire, saying "Ill be honest sir, were not going to approve 3 cards". I told her to forget the Sapphire and did not give the conf. #. I then called back again, and tried again with a diff CSR. She looked at my accnt, and DID NOT see that 5k was pulled from the CO card. She said it prob. would work, put me on hold, and then said that she sees 2 recent approvals, so she cant approve the a 3rd card. Does anyone know if I should try again? What should be my next step?

Try, try again.  It rarely takes me less than 4 or 5 calls to get a 3bm fully approved.  Something that's worked for me in the past is to say you run your own small business (ebay selling, tutoring, etc.) and that you're going to use the sapphire for business and the other 2 were personal.  Good luck!

Should I wait a day or 2? Or just do it 1 after another?

I'm not sure waiting serves any purpose, what's your rationale for waiting?

if they see the previuos calls, maybe they can see the time of day as well. It might tick them off? Just wondering...

If you have a 'valid' reason for applying for the other card as well, there's no reason you wouldn't be calling for one after the other.

I've gotten a nice agent to approve two in one call.

I hate to sound like an amora arguing on a tanna (if such a thing were possible), but I have to disagree with AJK especially considering the problem you mentioned on your credit report.  I always hang up and call again right after, hopefully before they have a chance to update the system, and I've yet to get turned down.  Never tried two cards though in one call so can't speak to that.

I wasn't advocating one approach over the other, nor did I understand his post to be asking for advice on that score.

His question was "Can I talk about both cards on the same phone call..."

My answer was, yes, it is possible. I have done it.

Indeed. Join date/post count should not stifle your opinion.
