I gave them my reference number (from the rejection letter) and they saw right away that I had multiple apps.  So I guess YMMV.
i would assume your rejection was cuz of too many recent inq. if thats the case then it doesnt mean they saw the other app.

Anyone else have experience with walking into a bank and talking to someone in the bank
And getting them to approve you? (like someone mentioned earlier in this thread)

It was because of a high recent balance.  They told me exactly what I recently applied for.

They can see all your recent inquiries that are on your cr. If you only got one pull from chase, I doubt they saw all 3 if you used the reference number when calling.

Are you sure they knew that you had 3 pending chase apps??

I've called recon 4 times, always with the ref ID #. On 2 of them they commented about my other apps, on 2 they didn't. They definitely can see them IME.

I cancelled my CO recently. Today I received this SM:

Dear Shmelly,

I regret loosing you as a Chase cardmember, as serving you
was very important to us and I appreciated your business.

Our records indicate that the $85 annual fee adjustment
post on January 10, 2012 leaving the account with a credit
balance of $85.

I would like to explore the possibilities of providing
you with a credit card with benefits that you find more
appealing. Chase offers a variety of rewards-based
products, including airline, hotel, and cash-back
programs. If you would like to know more about the
products that we have available, you may reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,

Robbin Valentich

I find it odd that they even sent it to me, considering I already have multiple other cards with them. Is this standard practice? Anything that I can gain from this? Also, do they have 9 year olds writing these SMs?

Wasn't sure where to put this, please move if there's a better thread.

call back.  Ask if there is any way to get the CO card approved.  Tell them all your good qualities...have you been a customer for a long time?  Do you pay all your bills on time every month?  Do you do your banking with Chase?  etc.  If they say they still can't approve you, hang up and call back again.  Rinse and repeat until some "softy" rep approves you.

i called again they told me there is nothing they can do because i don't have a long history (only 8 months and 1 cc (witch they transferred that already to approve my 1st cc) with chase, so they could only accept me for 1 cc.  :-\ do you still think calling again will help?

No.  If you only have one card and 8 months of history, I advise you to drop any ideas you may have of getting more signup bonuses.  Hold on to your one card for a few years and then try your hand at this stuff.  If you start now you'll most likely mess up your credit.....and even if you don't mess it up, you're going to have a heck of a time getting approved for anything.

I didn't even attempt to play this game until I had 9 years of credit history and about a 750 credit score (not because I waited....more like I didn't know these things were possible).  That length of history and good score have enabled me to get approved for 10 cards in under 1.5 years.  And my score is still about 725 (the lowest of the 3 scores) even with many many credit pulls on record.

Sorry I just re-read your post.  Did you mean with Chase you only have 1 card and 8 months?  Or with credit cards in general?  How long have you had your oldest credit card?

ok Icy I misunderstood your post then.  Go ahead and call back until you find an easy rep.  Keep trying....I called 8 times recently to get two cards approved.
