PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

There's a chance one or both will be approved but even if they aren't you can call up Recon and have them approved. I just did that with a 2bm for the Continental and United cards. You don't have to wait for any letters. Call up in a day or two.

why do I recall seeing on DDF that I should wait for after the letters arrive to call recon?
anyway the funny thing is I didn't even get an app no.

hence my question: does recon mean another credit pull?

Perhaps to get the app number if they don't have it? Folks don't like asking the rep to look it up by ssn since it draws attention to the fact there are multiple apps.

Or perhaps just to wait and see if it gets approved on its own? That happened to me recently. I can't recall the exact timeline, but I believe it was between 2 and 5 days after the app - based on a couple calls into the automated status line. (This was with a Chase biz app)

sorry I'm bit confused???
I shall callem in a few days?
but what if the app status is still pending, then why should I risk calling in, where a recon rep may decide to approve only 1 of them or even worse, while leaving it the way it is now it might get approved auto w/o a rep's involvement?

but what if the app status is still pending....
I'm no expert. But based on what I've read here and my experience, I think people call in after a few days because they assume it's a rejection at that point.

I've seen a number of instances where the reject letter came in the mail, but the automated status line still says pending. I've never heard the automated status line say it's been rejected.

But I don't think you lose anything by waiting for the letter...

Chances are slim you'll be auto approved at this point. Call the automated app status number and see if they say 7-10 business days (means wait for recon letter) or two weeks (means still waiting for review).

SOOO DISAPPOINTED!
did a 2bm Chase SP+CO OPP eventough I have a high credit score with long history I wasn't instantly approved, both pending
please help me with those 2 q.
1)is there still a chance I should receive a letter that both are approved although it wasn't instantly or I'll definitely have to argue it out with reconsideration?
2) currently my CR shows only 1pull,
if I'll have to go through reconsideration does it mean the lender will pull again or not necessarily?

please help its the 1St time starting to churn and already sucha disappointment
UPDATE I called the app status line entered my ssn [didn't get an app id] one app 'be notified 7/10 days' the other one 'be notified in about 2 weeks'
dreading this

That's probably good news. I'd try pressing 0 to get through to new accounts (stupid outsourced call center people), and try to get the appID for the 7-10 day message. Once you have the appID, call recon for the card.

Nothing to dread, just be confident and have your talking points prepared.

I didn't originate that theory, so thank Side Incomer for it. It does make sense to me though, and I think it's a fair assessment.

is it possible that the system totally canceled out one app w/o even given it a chance to be reviewed, and recon wouldn't even help, and I'll just have to apply all over again??

no, recon would review it.
