PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

I'm not sure what to say in that situation.  My strategy would probably be to keep calling back until I got a rep who didn't say no more than 1 card every x days.
Just got approved via reconsideration for SP a mere 2 weeks after getting approved the same way for Freedom. They offered to close my old account this time or transfer credit but last time it just got approved. Time she last CC was not a factor or maybe I got lucky

im gonna try it soon, they asked me also why i needed so many cards etc..what do i say about the policy of no more then 1 card every x amount of days?

Never heard of such a policy. I've heard of a "2 card per 30 days", but even that isn't a hard limit, i.e. you can usually find a recon rep to override it (albeit with persistence).

Do you say "it has great benefits" or I like the elite status/free bags or other benefit. That usually helps. Or I need a visa card to spend at...

I just say I want the sign up bonus. Never had that reason challenged. Remember you're talking to normal Americans, who are just trying to understand why you are applying.

Well then telling them why you want the card won't really help.
That helps when you have too many cards

I got shot down for using that reason.  The analyst said they won't approve me just because I wanted bonus points.

They may be 'normal', but it's Chase's job to turn them into skeptical robots.

i had an amex for under 2 yrs, it was a charge card.
this feb /2012 i got approved for a chase saphire 5k and continental 2k
i admit i called twice for the saphire. the continental was really interesting though
i called 3 times till they agreed to send it in for approval, the reason they didnt want to approve mae at first was b/c i have little history with credit cards and the highest my limit was used was apparently 2500$ although i have a charge card and i have spent over 10k in a month no problem. but it seems that what amex reported..
they put it through for 2k and it went into pending and then got declined, i called 2 more times to convince someone to try again for 1k until he tried and it too got declined by the system. i waited a few days and called again, this time it went through for 2k.
my convincing argument was always "i understand i have little history outside of amex but i didnt need to, they treated me gr8 and i had no limit on my credit, the only reason i want to move by business to chase is for the continental miles. as of sep 30, they dont transfer so UR is in my interests, even with your cards starting off with small limits like 3-4k is ridiculous, but i dont care i'll wait a few months, show them i am a good customer and need more credit and move my 20k monthly spending to chase.. "

True... but I didn't even receive the card yet! Hope It'll come through. In this case would you suggest calling or just SM?

As long as it shows up online you could send them an SM. I did it last week and they gave it to me.
