All your chase accounts? Or just the ones you applied for?

Just the United one. The Hyatt card (which they never even contacted me about) remained open.

Any other reasons besides to many accounts? I got similar wording as one of the reasons on my first shut down (my second Chase card ever), got another reason and fought with them directly and the  cfpb and they reopened it. (Fought both fronts at once, thou I believe the cfpb complaint was what opened it).

Interesting. I had two lines under the reasons to shut the account:

1) Too many accounts opened recently
2) Sufficient credit available with chase

I'm annoyed that they called me to approve the card and then close it. I'd rather be denied at the outset than deal with this mess. I'll try recon tomorrow, then I'll take up the CFPB option.

I wish we had more DPs on what "too many accounts recently" is

Applied for Hyatt & United Exp on the same day. Got a call from Chase the next day to confirm my info and drop my limit on another card to get approved for the United. Next day I notice that the Hyatt got approved on it's own.

Now I get a letter before the card even arrived saying account has been closed for too many accounts opened recently and sufficient credit available with Chase.

I have only opened these two accounts this year (in addition to reserve 20 months ago.) I'm going to call recon tomorrow, but this system seems a bit broken. Any advice?

On the line with Chase recon. They closed the new card since I opened two cards on the same day. Trying to find out why opening two cards on the same day is an issue.

ETA: They have added that once the account is closed, it cannot be reopened. I'll be submitting a complaint to the CFPB now.

A bit more info I gathered. When I applied, my app was put into pending. When I got a call from Chase, this was the lending dept. calling to pull credit from other cards in order to open my account. Once my account was opened along with the Hyatt on the same day using a single credit pull, the system flagged me for a special review. Then both of my apps went to a new department (missed the name they call it - starts with a D) for a full review.

When this new daprtment reviewed my whole account, they determined (using unknown logic) that I only warranted one account. They therefore closed the United account and left the Hyatt alone. Requests to reopen the account has been met with Chase saying that is now impossible since this is permanently closed. They have stated I can reapply... But now this card that I never had will count on my credit report and as an additional card in 5/24 land.

I've put a complaint into the CFPB as well as asked for a supervisor of this underground dept to call me back with more info. I'll keep you all posted.

CFPB got my permanently closed account open, while four levels up on Chase Phone call (no clue what any of the titles where after the regular rep) did nothing. Good luck!
I'm not who you think I am.

Applied for a card, got message that they will inform me when they can if I've been accepted.  Called recon, but they couldn't pull up application with my SS or name. What gives?
Update: must have mistyped my SS. Went thru security check, they changed my social, and I got instant approved.

Update: Due to my complaint with the CFPB, Chase reopened my account within 3 days of filing it. The rep had reviewed my case and saw that the actions taken did not make much sense. She worked with the lending dept. to get it reopened.

Great suggestion on the CFPB @grodnoking, thanks!

Applied for the ink unlimited and got a pending, called the number for application status and it said 30 days.

Last time this happened I was auto approved the next day.

That's twice in a row that I got pending when using Sole proprietor. Is it common not to be instantly approved?
Any correlation to having a sole proprietor business?

I haven't seen an auto approval for an ink. Only done sole prop, but seems to always go pending and usually approved shortly after.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Thank u all for the DP.

I was auto approved today without needing to call recon.

I find it interesting that the Inks don't do instant approval. I was always instantly approved on my personal cards

Did you call to move the credit over or they did it automatically? Is this the same with business? Would they approve on a Sunday?
