Yeah. This was really unexpected. I don't know if this has something to do with me recently moving in over 10k into my Chase Checking account for the fidelity transfer deal. I doubt so as I don't think the CC division can access that. Sometimes Chase scares me with their app responses so much that it leaves me worried for months about A/R's. When they see in 2 months I've got over 30k in lines just this month from other issuers I think I might be at risk. I need to get my UR points out of chase quick.

Asher:

Won't converting to a no fee card exclude me from any future bonus on that card? This is what happened with my first Chase Buy.com card as they suddenly converted it to a Freedom.

No. I bet you could still get a bonus on a new Freedom app (though if you already have one you'll have to convince them you need the other one too). Virtually all Chase cards are chrunable (in reality, regardless of what the terms say), BA is pretty much the only exception I know of.

I applied for a friend and here's what happened.

Did 3bm for SPP, CO, UA. Got approved for SP and UA. During the reconsideration period,  CO turned into UA. Most reps told me that its not possible to have two of the same product.  Finally last week I found a rep that said its okay to have both but he can't approve me since it would be the 3rd card in 30 days and I should call back after 30 days.

I called back today and split the cl on the UA visa to get the UA MC.

Now here's the problem : when I originally applied,  I didn't enter any ff# on eithet app. (I figured they would open an ff account for me). The problem is now that they are both UA cards, so they are going to apply the same ff# to both apps!

I asked the recon guy today if I can add an ff# to the app and he said its not possible.  I CSR and she said she'll forward my request to marketing dept.

Is there still hope? Is there any way to find out if I'll for sure be getting the bonus?
Thanx

@saver2000, I did the same thing and only the sapphire was approved. Called recon and got the Co approved. Just called again to the UA approved and they are telling me I have to close one of my cards cuz too many apps in 3 months. I asked to move some credit line over and he said no, according to their policy I can't open up many cards in such a short time. He said I'd have to close one of my cards to get that one approved. Thanks! Suggestions?

Did you freeze any of your credit reports? That could trigger multiple pulls. Also if any of the info on the apps was typo'd and it needed to be corrected in order to pull your report.
No I didn't. Oh well...

If they offered to give me a new SP with bonus if I closed my WMC, I'd do it.

After all that's why you converted to the WMC isn't it? To get a new SP.

Basically she closed my WMC to get the SP ,I didnt ask if i would receive the bonus. Im not sure if this was smart since I'm not sure ill receive the bonus again and also im worried I can get in trouble as I converted SP ->WMC and then closed WMC for SP again. Anyone have insight on this?

Did a 3BM last week for SP Visa, SP WMC, and Hyatt.  Got immediate accepted for the SP Visa and well get back to you on the other 2.  Called recon today and asked to push through, they said I was denied for the WMC bec I cant have 2 SP's at the same time but I got approved on the Hyatt with some sweet talking.

Question is- how do I get the WMC approved and get the bonus?  I understand from this forum that I have to convert the Visa into the WMC to get it.  When do I do that?  AFter 30 days and 3k spend?  Thanks

My Chase Co/United MC limit was lowered 2 months ago from 5K to 3K due to high credit utilization.

Utilization ratios improved since, besides 1 card that still uses 80% of its credit line (0% APR), My score is in the low 700's with 4 pulls on Experian.

based of my line reduction, is it too risky to go now for a mileage run, or will recon do it?

From Chase I've only got 1 more card the BA visa w 3K limit, so not too much leverage on moving credit.

And if yes, should I only double dip or go for a full 3BM?
