To fax in verification documents:

#2: 888-643-9628

Call CS 1-888-338-2586 or 1-800-432-3117 and press # or 1. (If it's asking for your full 16 digits account number, it's 1. If it's asking for only your last 4 digits, it's #)

PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

ETA: With EX once you get a report number you can then use that number any time to get another report. Just start a new dispute with that report number. I would not do it more than once a month.

Then what? re you actually disputing any of the info on the report?

No. It will show an updated report but no need to dispute anything.

Sweet. Thanks.

I'm assuming you tried this on EQ/TU and no luck.

Sweet. Thanks.

I'm assuming you tried this on EQ/TU and no beef.

If you do it multiple times it will lock you out for TU

Chase Reconsideration
« Reply #1125 on: April 01, 2012, 12:15:38 AM »
I applied for the chase sapphire MASTERCARD.  I already have the VISA.

They sent me a letter to call them.

I called and was told this:
You cannot have 2 sapphire PREFERRED cards. Although there are differences between the VISA and MASTERCARD, they still fall under one category.

The option she gave me was to downgrade the VISA to not PREFFERED and then they would consider my MasterCard application.

Any thoughts?

Please answer soon as they are removing the 50k offer.

Thanks!!!

Same here. Got the 7-10 days recording that supposedly means good chances, was told by recon that the system automatically declined the application as I already have a SAPPHIRE product, nothing to do with preferred she said, and no pull was even made. will have to try again. EDIT: got the same from the second rep. anyone had luck after this excuse? its in the system.

2 mistakes in your post: 1, 7-10 business days is usually a BAD indicator; 2, you can have a Sapphire and a Sapphire preferred.

Because you want to start using a United visa.
Convince yourself and you'll convince a rep.  Go into it unsure and you won't convince anyone.
Even though I said I needed it, they said no can do because I applied for too many cards within 30 days. How have people gone around this? They said I needed to close one of the cards first.

call again, call again, call again, call again, call again...............................

I know it sounds silly after several rejections, but it really can and often does work.

For my most recent Chase spree I put in 2 apps and they didnt want to give me either because of recent applications and accounts opened with Chase and other banks as well.  I must have called at least 8 times, possibly even 10.  But I eventually opened both cards without closing any others, and I currently have 4 active Chase cards.

I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered but I got a few pages in and was overwhelmed.  I did a 2BM for SP and Freedom, pending on both but was able to pull the App ID's.  How long before I should call Recon?

Too many reports of these stuff in the last 24 hours. A new wave of enforcements?

Or maybe just lots of recent apps due to the deadline on the SP 50k links.

Well after dealing with all our calls, I wouldn't blame them.  :D
