I did a triple browser on Chase with my Experian frozen.
My Sapphire went through but the freedon and hyatt did not.
I called chase and they said that I would need to unfreeze my Experian.
My understanding was that Chase will check transunion if Experian is frozen.
Is there someone in the forum that can advise?

Unless things have changed, just direct the recon agent to check "one of your unfrozen reports, like TU."

Interesting that you got automagically approved for the Sapphire, though. I guess its possible they checked an unfrozen report based on your location.

Thank you, i will try that.
In the event that they are stuck on getting the Experian PIN, do you think that it'll count as one pull or two?

Transunion said there was NO freeze so the Chase CSR had no idea what she was talking about.
I will call back tomorrow and see what happens.
Has anyone ever heard them insist on hitting Experian specifically?

Depends if there is any basis for credit. How long is her credit history ? If she has no credit history then that would be very unlikely.

Also side question, do you call as your wife?

She has no previous credit history other than a personal checking account.

I do call as my wife.

Getting the sapphire approved with no credit history is on the far end of the spectrum. You probably would have more luck getting a card that doesn't require a 5k line such as the united card for 1k (http://www.dansdeals.com/go/unitedexplorer/), which even that would be hard to push. Your best bet is opening a card that doesn't require a credit history such as a capital one card or macys store card etc and waiting 6 months to a year.

I miss the old days... Just write whatever you want on the app, no credit history, big credit lines approved... then the wonderful credit crunch came along...

LOL... not too long ago... I personally only got my first CC then about 5 1/2 years ago (altho for some odd reason I only have my oldest card on credit report at under 3 years :(  Amex had really screwed up on my account back then and took a while to sort it out).

I never bothered trying again and again to get one of the chase cards i applied for to be approved. Its been over two months or so. Is it too late? (I don't even have the paper anymore.) Or should I just sign up for a whole new slew of cards.

It is to late your application won't even be in there system anymore. You may want to wait a few more months before applying again.

A little over a month ago i got accepted for the SP.
then i decided to do a 2BM on UA and BA. and app status line told me 2 weeks for one and 7-10 days on other.
so i called recon and they only mentioned the UA and she put in a request and said denied bec i just opened the SP and they want to see more activity. so i HUCA and the rep spoke to me about the BA and said withen 2 weks ill get notified (and it seems good). then i HUCA and spoke to a mean rep, and she said about the UA that i opened way too many cards in the past year and half and i cant have more (besides that i applied for the BA as well). so i HUCA one last time and she spoke about the UA and said that i already spoke to a rep and it says in notes that i dont have enough activity on SP (i havent paid a bill yet)

in short it seems that BA will get accepted and UA not. is there any use of calling again tommorow?

Have any cards to offer as a karbon?
Or that won't work.
