I'm waiting to get the card before trying to get the first year fee waived.
There is no reason to wait till you have the card. As long as it's showing in your online chase account, send them a SM requesting they match the new offer with the first year free. I did it before I received the card and worked like a charm :) GL! and Welcome to ddf :)

Thanks for the advice. The card is not showing up on my Chase account yet, but I will send a SM as soon as it does.

I am closing a SP and asked all the credit be transferred to a different card, the agent said it can't go below 5k. But YMMV.
Did you PUTPAC/HUCA the reallocation line?
Just did and they did it no problem. They couldn't bring in below my current bill obviously...
Interestingly when I changed my sapphire preferred card into the regular sapphire card to avoid the annual fee they needed to increase the credit limit back to $5k because that is the minimum for the card...

Just got a SM back from Chase. They agreed to waive the first year on the UA Club Card. Thanks, Dan!

Iv'e been trying to recon a SP app. from this AOR. Her situation is that the only cc under her name was opened about a month ago, although she was an AU on a card for 10+ yrs. She got approved for the UA card with a 5k limit but they say to approve the SP they would need the full 5k from the UA card and close the account. They refuse to give her any more credit based on her pretty much non existent history, I HUCAed like 10 times and so far no go. Anyone have any advice?

Two questions:
1) My friend  just did a 3BM for SP, IB and UA. They only approved him for the IB, for the others he got "too many applications for credit". He does not have any Chase cards to use as leverage. What's the best thing to say to recon in order to get them pushed through?

2) When churning UA, if I currently have the UA card and end up needing to call recon, is there any way recon will still work? Because they are probably going to say that I already have that same card and cannot be approved for another one.

If he didn't have any Chase cards before applying, he can call and say he needs a card for personal use.

He can try calling recon at the same time someone calls recon for the other card (they just need to make sure they're not both calling for the same card).

Just that will do it? How about if they insist that he has "too many applications for credit"?

That would be one explanation for why he applied for several Chase cards. Did he apply for cards with other issuers as well?

He did around 2-3 months ago.
