Chase Fraud # 2: 1-800-278-8830
(If you have a fraud alert on your account, recon will instantly transfer you here for verification, so you might as well call directly)

To fax in verification documents:
#1: 888-643-9624
#2: 888-643-9628
#3: 201-328-3289 (according to a rep from this dept, it's quicker than the other listed numbers)

Chase CS #: 1-800-432-3117

To know whether your application is pending or declined:
Call CS 1-888-338-2586 or 1-800-432-3117 and press # or 1. (If it's asking for your full 16 digits account number, it's 1. If it's asking for only your last 4 digits, it's #)
Press 3, then 1, then key in your SSN.
If you hear:
This application is being reviewed. You will be notified in writing of our decision, in approximately 2 weeks
It's pending.
If you hear:
This application is being reviewed. You will be notified in writing, within 7 to 10 business days, of our decision
It's been declined.

Business cards application status: call 800-453-9719.

7-10 day message on the business application line does not mean a denial.

No matter what the status of your app is or what the page said after you hit submit or what Chase emailed you, etc... CALL TODAY! Any "pending" issues can either be addressed once you get your letter in the mail in 2 weeks, or you can JUST CALL TODAY!
And if at first you don't succeed HUCA, HUCA, HUCA etc. If they tell you there's a max of 2 cards per 30 days, HUCA!
PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

Applied for 2 Business preferred yesterday.

One is pending, other is declined.

I already have 4 ink under one SSN that I rarely use...

Called about the pending card, and they had no info other than wait.

Called recon about declined and they said I have 4 inks that I rarely use, so they don't see why I need 2 more.
I offered to close an old one, or move line of credit from an old one but they said no. HUCA was a strong no as well.

Would it help to right now go and close 2 or 3 of my inks that I don't use, and then HUCA?

In general, is it a good idea to close old inks to avoid this problem? (till now, my thought process was to just keep them open and charge $2/ month...)
I came here to post the exact same question! And interestingly enough this question was the latest post on this thread. I'm having the same issue and it gets worse every time I apply, this time around i tried huca several times, and it's a no go due to having too many accounts open low usage etc. No matter what I tell them,it's still the same outcome.

Can somebody please chime in if it makes sense to close some inks in order to avoid being declined for new inks? Or closing can also cause declines since they can see how many you closed as well ?
@Dan mind to chime in ?

Applied for 2 preferreds with 2BM (is that still a thing??). One as SP under social and one for LLC with EIN. One was approved instantly, now received notice that second was declined as "duplicate app" what's the best number to call and what's the best thing to say to get "duplicate approved"?

Don't think you can do that (open 2 sapphires at same time)

Also wondering.. Did anyone try this? Think I'm going to try this and see if it helps. Can't hurt at this point after lots of declines

My wife tried this two weeks ago. Declined for Ink Preferred due to too many business accounts opened. The recon rep sort of hinted that it would help to close a card. She closed two Ink cards and was still declined toady after many HUCAs. The last rep again hinted that it may help to close a card, but I'm afraid of getting flagged and there'd still be no guarantee of approval.

same. I would lower credit limits too, because that is part of it

Data Point: Previously I had 2 Unlimited Inks 2 Cash Inks 1 Preferred Ink. ( I have 2 legit businesses )

This week I applied for another Preferred Ink.  and got the we will let you know in 7-10 days.

Called for reconsideration. They asked couple questions, and asked if I could move over credit from a different ink. Once I agreed they reviewed on the spot and approved.

I applied for Preferred and was denied. Called recon and they resubmitted the app after taking off 5/24 from AUs and was still denied. I called the next day to ask about moving credit and they said they can't do another recon. Is that true? HUCA?

If recon reviews it and declines due to too many recent apps (not 5/24), is there any point in huca?

By calling reconsideration will it draw unnecessary attention to all my accounts that may have low usage and then risk getting flagged by Chase? The rep was reviewing all the accounts and asking many questions.

When I call Recon it asks me for my SS.
It tells me we will be notified in 7-10 days

if I press 0 it takes me to a CS rep, who can transfer me to a recon rep.

It wasn't always this way. Is there a way around or this is new only way?

Called Chase Business Recon #: 1-800-453-9719, and after pressing "1" and then entering SSN, it tells me that I'll hear within 7-10 business days, which I have (got denied).

How do I get a rep these days? Only option is to repeat the message (pressing "7") or end the call (pressing "9").

Applied for Chane Ink Cash under a business which I have an Ink Unlimited with 10K credit

I do have five other Ink cards under other businesses with a total limit of about $100K (of which I use only two for approx $5k - $10K total a month)

Chase declined my app due to too many active accounts or too much avail credit, and high debt relative to income.

I called recon, and they mentioned I already have a lot of business credit with them, so asked why I needed more - I explained I didn't need more and was happy to shift over credit from another card to get this one open

Also asked questions about business needs, what I do etc which I answered well I think (it's a real business with rev etc)

At the end after 30 min he said he couldn't approve it even by shifting credit, kept going back to me already having 6 business cards with them (even though 5 of them are on different businesses)

Would you recommend trying recon again? would closing one of my accounts beforehand help?

When explaining why I wanted this card I said mostly for the cash back, the card also has 0% APR, would mentioning that as a reason for wanting the card improve my odds or not?
