And if at first you don't succeed HUCA, HUCA, HUCA etc. If they tell you there's a max of 2 cards per 30 days, HUCA!
PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

awesome 3 bm story:
In late June I applied for the united, marriot and hyatt cards. Off the bat I was approved for the Marriot. I had to call recon and have them split my CL from my freedom (was 10k) and got the United approved. When it came time for the Hyatt, I got the run around. First I was told no- too many cards. Next day I was told that, if I close an old card, then I can get it. I wanted to cloes my Sapphire (the 1 year is in June), but it had a $500 balance. I was told to call back when it was zero. Fine, three days later I called back, every time I called (twice that day), I was told no. For the rest of the week I called every other day, and kept being told no. Fine. I waited a week, called on friday, and the rep was able to close my Sapphire and open the Hyatt with the Sapphires credit line :).

Odd situation:

I applied for the MP consumer and MP business cards. I got a rejection letter for the consumer card, but not for the business card. When I called recon about the consumer card, the rep told me that they can see that the other card (i.e. MP business) was approved, and wanted to know why I wanted the consumer one as well. The rep ended up approving it.

Fast forward one month. I got the MP consumer card in the mail, but never got the business card. I call Chase today to ask what happened, and the rep said that they don't see any business cards approved on my account! I am then transferred to the lending department, and the rep there tells me that the business card was never approved (i.e. declined), and they have no idea why I was told it was approved. I also noted that I never received a rejection letter for the business card, but the rep claims it was sent out, and since it is now more than 30 days, there is nothing they can do to reconsider.

Anyone have the same situation? What might have gone wrong here?

I think ive read it here somewhere but cant find it now.

Chase shut down my SP for "gaming" (point transfers) and now wont approve me for any cards, even non UR cards.

Any way to get around it?

What did you do? How many people did you transfer to?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

It was a couple of incoming transfers. Got the letter/shut down some 6 months later.

You can try. I was in your position about a year ago. I got the freedom first- best chance is doing it at the bank ( and it helps a ton if you have a checking account with them). After a few months "proving" yourself you should be good to go. I would wait a month to do this. I am a college student and have gotten 5 cards- 3 of which had bonuses of 50k. Good luck

Yes. It helped me get the card by giving my employer's number. The phone number is the key!

It will be harder but possible. The books only matter if they give you a financial review. However, if you dont raise any red flags you could pass without proving anything.

Calling chase recon means they can and very often will pull your credit report again.
