It's been declined.

7-10 day message on the business application line does not mean a denial.

No matter what the status of your app is or what the page said after you hit submit or what Chase emailed you, etc... CALL TODAY! Any "pending" issues can either be addressed once you get your letter in the mail in 2 weeks, or you can JUST CALL TODAY!
And if at first you don't succeed HUCA, HUCA, HUCA etc. If they tell you there's a max of 2 cards per 30 days, HUCA!
PS: If the reason you were declined on a 5/24 card is 5/24, and you are indeed 5/24, YOU WILL NOT GET APPROVED.

Just put through a 2BM. United Explorer: approved. Marriot Rewards Premiere: pending. When I called the automated # they told me that both are pending, one for 2 weeks and one for 7-10 days. But they didn't tell me which is which! Assuming they got the order same as the emails I got, the one they say 7-10 days is the one that was already approved (united). Does that make any sense?

I also haven't had any luck getting more than 2 cards opened thru chase although my credit score is 790 and i applied with 4BM. I only HUCA'ed twice though because I didn't have time to call more. Now it's been about a week and a half and I will keep calling but not sure if anything will change. I got approved for 1 personal and 1 business (both after closing 1 card I haven't used in years and shifting credit, although I have over $75,000 of credit with them.) Should it be 2 personal and 2 business at a time?

No, obviously the one that says 2 weeks is the one you were approved for.
The pending is because it takes time for them to set up the card with the FF account.

So the Marriot is pending 7-10 days which means probably declined? Or just that it has to be set up? Trying to decide if it's worth getting my spouse to call recon or not...

I know Dan posted about this somewhere, but i can't find it.

I applied for 4 cards at the same time using 4BM: BA, Ink Plus business, Marriott and Sapphire Preferred.I got approved for BA & Ink and declined for the other two. I offered to move credit around to get the Ink Plus approved and closed a sapphire (regular) and moved the credit to the BA to get it approved.  I already have a Sapphire Preferred card, a mastercard, and I tried telling them I need a visa because some of the stores i go to only accept VISA and they gave me this whole story about how all their sapphire preferred cards are switching over to mastercard because of a deal they have with the company and they won't have any VISA cards soon for sapphire preferred. Is this bogus or what? Then I tried telling them I need a marriott card because I travel and stay in marriott hotels (I did twice last year without points) and want to collect marriott rewards to pay for my hotel stays and they still wouldn't approve the card. I have excellent credit and a lot of credit with Chase. The reason they have is I opened up 2 cards already and it's too soon to open any more. 1 of the two cards is a business card.

When you HUCA to get cards approved that were denied, what reason do you give them? Thanks!

ohsleepy:  Many people have also had trouble getting approved for more than 2  chase cards in 30 days.  Many (most?) have been unable even with HUCA.

@ckmk47, you did a great job in shortening his post and you were very nice by answering this newcomer.
However, it's not that hard to get more than 2 cards in 30 days despite the official Chase rule of 2/30. I've done it recently at the beginning of August, you just gotta be creative.
