you might as well try if you got the card but dont sign up for it expecting to get 30k.  Ive been trying to help my father get the 30k for the last 2 months and they wont budge.  Many SM's, phone calls... Nothing has worked.

IIRC In the Amex matching threads (platinum/gold) people reported getting their cards matched based on the open offer of 30K but that was a few months ago and was closer to the non targeted offer
