They had a special forces sniper on this weekend. He stated in no uncertain terms that any sniper would have taken him out before he got off the second volley. This might be what we see going forward at these events.

They couldn't get one there at some point ? This is Vegas, not some laid back town. For the amount of anti-terror drills they do over there they seemed very ill-prepared for this. We're talking a crowd of 22,000.

You only need one well placed and believe it. Even an untrained person like me can hit a quarter at 200 yards. Just think what a trained person with the best equipment can do.
