They're looking more incompetent as the days go on (from LE perspective). He already had the cameras set outside his room & did whatever he did to the doors.

No we don't. And if I were a betting man (no pun intended) I'd say he'd set it up before this.

It also makes no sense that the guard was shot and had no response to that for 6 minutes.

Who actually go through the planning stages up till pulling the trigger ? Not too many or they’d already have a profile & possible motive.

+1 There are many who think about doing things like this. That's why there is a distinction made, both in law enforcement but especially in mental health care, between vague, moderate, or active ideation, and intent, planning, etc. When in the hotel room, this guy was far beyond "planning on it." I was just suggesting as a possibility (not even sure I believe it, its just an option) that the fact that the security gaurd came while he may have been setting up and not yet ready may have caused him to begin shooting sooner than planned, and prior to being fully organized and prepared.
