Dates are wide open through summer. Connections available in JFK and MIA. Earns 450% if credited to AS.

Saw this on OMAAT, who hat-tipped FT.
Booked a trip for me and DW right after 9Av using Amex MR (50% back for her, but only 35% for me).

Question is how to do BOS-LHR-BOS without breaking the bank.

Using it as a OW from LON to JFK? I was thinking of doing that but have a reason to be in TLV, not LHR, and the deal wasn't good enough as a OW for me to purchase two separate tickets

Thought of that.
But that means not taking F both directions across the Atlantic, and I don't know what it means to the mileage accrual if I don't finish the full RT.

You’ll likely earn the 20k or so miles for the ow to jfk and that’s it. Better value if you’re just in it for the flight imo

I’ve heard they cancelled everything. If you made non refundable booking I’d initiate a DOT complaint. Otherwise you can call but I doubt you’ll get anywhere.

They sent cancellation emails indicating they would cancel by 5pm GMT if they hadn't heard from us. That deadline had come and gone and ticket is still live in the Manage My Booking window.  Maybe they will cancel them all tomorrow.  I presume my booking is nonrefundable.   I will wait for them to cancel before I file DOT.

I’m talking about non refundable positioning flight or hotel reservation

Ah. No, I didn't make anything nonrefundable for positioning. Sounds like a DOT filing is not and won't be germane to my situation.

I got an AwardWallet notification about a flight schedule change on the MIA-GYE leg on AA.  Is it possible that the AA legs (MIA-GYE-MIA) are still alive? They look to be so on aa.com.  Or is it just “phantom?” Is there a way to distinguish?  I can’t imagine flying all the way to Miami and being denied boarding.

The LHR- MIA is dead (“null” when checked in Manage my Booking).

They cancelled 7 months later?

They cancelled months ago. But AwardWallet automatically tracked it and notified me of a minor schedule change. I guess I could call AA and ask them about the schedule change and see if they would switch my date. If that goes through, I would think the booking is valid. If the agent hits a snag, it would probably reveal the inauthenticity of the ticket.

aa cancelled a jfk-sfo on 9/2 a few weeks ago already. i was booked on  aa #15 @ 7am. flight doesnt exist anymore. per an aa elite call center rep, aa is re-doing their entire schedule and gates etc... so there are instances where flights are not available. i was offered to confirm the later flight time or to cancel and redeposit with no fee.

Friends,
I would appreciate your advice on how to handle this situation.
Recall that these tickets were booked initially because of the BA F TATL segments, with MIA-GYE (or, some had JFK-GYE, etc) via AA in J.
I booked the tickets with Amex Biz Plat points.
Well, BA cancelled the TATL F segments months ago. Amex already refunded all the points.
But the AA MIA-GYE segments remain alive and well, both on the Amex website and on AA.com.

AA website says the status is "Ticketed" and allows seat assignment and even "meal selection." Does not allow online changes.

However, the currently "ticketed" dates are not ideal for us.  As currently ticketed, we could take the outbound (MIA-GYE), on a Tuesday, but we would need to change the return from its currently scheduled Sunday (5-day trip) to Thursday (less than a 2-day trip). I would prefer to change both outbound and return dates to being later.

I presume I would need to call Amex to change the dates at this juncture, but I worry that calling will cause Amex to examine the records more carefully and result in cancellation.   Also, I figure if I call AA, they won't be able to touch the tickets, at least not until travel has begun.

What do you advise?

P.S. FWIW, the Amex website includes our ticket numbers, but it says our record locators are "pending." But the AA site has our record locator numbers.

Unless BA separated your itinerary and only cancelled their flight, there's no way you'll be able to take any of the flights.
