IME x4 the BRG worked even though they never charged the CC.
3 times they changed the price to 0 and 1 time they didn't change the price but didn't cancel the reservation either. I ended up not being able to make it that time so I'm not sure what would have happened.

In the middle though my credit card was charged and then refunded because as soon as the BRG was approved I quickly called them to submit a valid card.

They try to charge the card at some point after you make the reservation. It can be the same day or two weeks later or any other time before the stay.

If they dont manage to charge the card, then I think its up to the hotel to decide what to do.

They might call you and ask for a different form of payment (happend to me ounce while I was waiting for a BRG outcome. I told them my new card was coming in a couple of days and they left the reservation alone).

They might see that the hotel isent full anyway and decide to not cancell your reservation, hoping you'll show up and charge you then.
As long as they don't cancell your reservation before the rate adjustment, you should be fine even if they never charged your CC.

I think it's a great idea to have a DO-seminar where everyone can give a little presentation on an area they know well that could benefit others.

When I put in that a child will be coming, both IHG.com and the other sites show less of a variety of rooms. Is it a problem to not mention it and add the kid later (if the room terms says you can have a kid in the room)?

My understanding, Cmiiw, is that corporate pays for it. With ihg there are 2 scenarios either you pay for room and after words corporate sends check (probably better for hotel) or corporate tells hotel this one is on us...
