Confusing terms.
Is it just for Choice and Club Carlson or all hotels?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

All. Club Carlson and Choice has some different bonuses.
Quote

Posting of Promotional Miles:
(a) Subject to part 3(b) and 3(c), at the conclusion of the promotion, all miles earned by each member from Qualifying Activity will be multiplied by 30% to determine the eligible bonus up to a maximum of 25,000 Bonus Miles.
(b) Club Carlson – At the conclusion of the promotion, all miles earned by each member from Qualifying Activity with Club Carlson will be multiplied by 100%, instead of 30%, to determine the eligible bonus up to a maximum of 25,000 Bonus Miles. The incremental bonus shall be provided by Club Carlson, and MileagePlus shall have no liability for any bonus in excess of 30%.
(c) Choice Privileges – During the Promotional Period, Choice Privileges will allow their members to convert Choice Privileges points to MileagePlus award miles at a ratio of 5,000 Choice Privileges points to 2,500 MileagePlus award miles (instead of 5,000 points-to-1,000 miles). The increased conversion ratio shall be provided by Choice Privileges, and MileagePlus shall have no liability for such conversion offer. The award miles earned as a result of such a transfer will be eligible for a 30% bonus, if all other offer terms are met. For example, 5,000 Choice Privileges points would convert to 3,250 award miles if both the increased conversion ratio (resulting in 2,500 miles) and 30% bonus (resulting in 750 miles) are applicable.
(d) Bonus Miles will be credited into the member's account on or before January 30, 2017.The maximum bonus miles that can be earned by a member under this promotion is 25,000. MileagePlus will not be responsible for technical problems with partner miles postings, or failures or delays in miles postings by hotel partners, that would render any points to miles converted as ineligible under this promotion.

Any idea if they will allow SPG hotels once the merger is completed?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

From DDMS
"An even better deal is with Marriott’s miles+nights packages. 90K Starpoints transfers into 270K Marriott Rewards points. That can be used for 157K United miles and 7 nights in a Marriott category 1-5 hotel with the 25K bonus miles from this United promotion."

"Alternatively about 83,333 Starpoints becomes 250K Marriott points which is enough for 135,000 United miles and 7 nights in a Marriott category 1-5 hotel with the 20K bonus miles from this United promotion. Even if you don’t use the 7 night hotel certificate being able to transfer 83,333 Starpoints into 135K United miles is an effective 56% transfer bonus!"

To clarify shouldn't the only difference between transferring 90k and 83333 be whether you fully utilize the 25K max? Yet the rate is different...?
157000/90000=1.74
135000/83333=1.62

Heh, if 56%/62% that was my only mistake in copying, pasting, and adjusting the numbers from last year's post before running out of the house to drive my grandparents to a shiva call in PIT, then I did pretty good :)

I was trying to clarify the difference between the 2 options not point out your mistakes.

No worries. I like when my mistakes are corrected. Just got back home a few minutes ago. I've fixed the post now :)

Why does redeeming 90k get a different rate than 83k?

This is because of "upto 25000 United miles" limit in T&C of promo.

Is it worth it to trade with someone my ritz certificate (up to tier 4) for slightly lower Marriott/spg points for a tier 4 hotel ? And then transfer to ua? And how many Marriott/spg  could I ask to trade for a certificate ? Thanks

I registered and forgot. Tried to re-register and it told me the date that i registered, so your error may be cache or cookie related.

Any datapoints on transfer time and UA bonus posting? Just spoke to Marriott and initiated transfer. They said UA points should post in 3 business days. Got an email confirming redemption of package with Certificate number but nothing on the points portion of the transfer, very disconcerting.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.
