if theres Chometz in the porcalin part, then if I put in a hot pot Pesach, the בליעה can come through, since the porcelain was never Kashered, as it can't be.
So your saying the sink absorbed the flavor from an item that was placed inside during the year and now would come out and flavor another item?

Flavor? not really. Pesach is more חמור than נותן טעם.
חמץ בליעה would be more accurate.

so it's rubber or latex? is that always? The thing is that some Materials can be washed like this, but some can't.
I never looked at the coating closely. I have dealt with SS sinks. I can look at mine tomorrow but that doesn't mean yours would be the same material.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Thanks for the help.
Ur right that yours won't tell what mine is, though.

Probably just a spray on coating. After a little research it seems it is to help with condensation.

Interesting Q.
and a game changer...
Till now the Psak was that stainless can be kashered and porcelain must be covered.
Wonder if this changes something.

Truth be told, most stainless steel sinks I've came across and Kashered were entirely SS.
But now I'm seeing it's not always the case!
And a good Q!

Help the n00b out. Why are you worried about the underneath of the sink if it never comes in contact with the food?

Help the n00b out. Why are you worried about the underneath of the sink if it never comes in contact with the food?

If there's Chometz(something that was not kosher for passover) in the porcelain part, and how that became Chometz(Non kosher for passover) was through the absorption of the metal while hot and transferred it to the porcelain, similar if you have a cast iron flavored or coated pot(with a butter flavor built it, or coated for easy non stick cooking. Trying to bring out that there can be a residue built into the pot from previous action/cooking done with the pot, or in this case from placing a hot pot in the sink, then if I put in a hot pot from passover use, the בליעה(Literal translation meaning that swallows, absorbs, takes in    can come through, since the porcelain was never Kashered, as it can't be.(You can only cleanse certain opjects,(whats we call kasher)..
I guess if you want to follow here you'll have to google a bit and see what's what's.. but he needs a rabbi to find out if he needs to kasher the whole sink or does that dipped part of the sink pose a problem to him kashering the inside..

Hey. I have a nice amount of water in my crawl space. I’m going to need to get a French drain installed (as per the waterproofers). Before I do that I’d like to try something else. Is there a way to get a non submersible sump pump that will have a hose run directly into a drain to drain the water that comes in? If anyone has done something like this please give me ideas.
I’m currently usin lg a small wet vac to clean this up.

Yes, I've done this. The sump will suck out water up to the last 1/2 inch or so, and send it wherever you point the garden hose. If the other end of the hose is a drain, make sure it has the capacity to drain water quickly or that you have a deep sink/tub, otherwise you could have overflow at the drain.

My set up was in the basement and I put the sump pump flat on the floor at the deepest point of the puddle. The hose pumped the water up and out through a basement window to the lawn (my nearest drain was too far). This was meant to be temporary, and it was. Eventually the float got stuck on some debris that floated into the puddle (space was unfinished) and the pump motor stayed on until it burned out.

Flat floor as you pointed out this can be done. A crawl space I don't see it working without a pit.

Very interesting question and I hope OP will report back the answer (even though I'd still ask my own shayla if it was relevant to me).

Edited: I just spoke to a kitchen maker who told me this is most probably an enamel sink with a stainless finish. Very different story.

Make a flat floor. My space was unfinished too, dirt floor. So I took an extra bathroom floor tile and dug out enough space to put it flat on the floor, and set the pump on top (then anchored it). The little amount that I dug also had the benefit of making the low point that much lower.
