Make a flat floor. My space was unfinished too, dirt floor. So I took an extra bathroom floor tile and dug out enough space to put it flat on the floor, and set the pump on top (then anchored it). The little amount that I dug also had the benefit of making the low point that much lower.
So you basically made a mini-pit.  :)

I did something different. I bought this.

Bought a hose and it basically took out most of it.
Works basically as a siphon so you need to have it raised slightly and Hose prefilled

Isn't it a problem if the crawl space keeps getting wet?

Just had a sewer backup in my (currently unfinished due to previous fire damage) basement. The sewer cleaner guy gives me this whole shpiel about my main line (which is likely cast iron or something like that) being rusted and needing high pressure jet wash or something. I did see a lot of rust colored debris in the trap. Is this legit? For now I just had him clean it out obviously, but trying to figure out if anything further is necessary.

I am not a fan of voluntarily putting old pipes under high pressure. Unless your main line is not draining dont touch it. If its clogged I'd try snaking it out. I've had roots grow into mine somehow and what the snake pulled out kept it clear for a few years. Amd if that doesnt work I think I'd replace the main rather than jetting it.

If you're not living in the house for a while then the theory of something growing in the quiet pipes makes some sensw.

He also said I have root issues, but I don't buy that because there's only one tree near enough to have roots be a problem, and it's basically dead.

I should also mention that the actually blockage was clearly caused by other issues, because he pulled out some sort of plastic light cover (that likely got in there because the trap cover had been on and off and things moved around after the fire) and a small cotton rag.

I wasn't even thinking about doing what he suggested, especially since he said it would be $1100. Mainly trying to figure out whether I should bring in someone I might be more willing to trust, or whether I should just leave everything as is for now.

Mine was rarely getting wet. Its only after days of sustained rain. So the pump idea worked because it does no harm while the space is dry and was always ready to work.

Roots don't have to come from an existing tree, could be a root system left umderground from long gone trees. It's quite likely to be present in old pipes below ground. But if your sewer line is draining now then don't do anything either way.

The price of jetting is another reason i try to avoid it. But $1100 is way too much, spunds like you called Mr. Rooter for a quote instead of a real plumber.

Hi
I have a toilet with a small tank that was great till a year ago.
it only works on every 2nd flush, meaning i hold the lever down (yes and the tank is full of water) but nothing goes down.
when you i wait for it to fill and flush again it works...
 Thanks

Where is the water going the first time you flush? Is the toilet filling up and about to over flow?

how many gallons per flush is this mini toilet?
Take off the lid on the tank. When you hold the handle down is it lifting the chain and flapper and holding it up? if its not then you should shorten the chain so it lifts the flapper.  Is the chain even connected?
