What about the toilet bowl. Is that filling with water and at some point flushes by itself?
ETA: To test the flapper. Put a few drops of food coloring in the tank. See if after a couple minutes the food coloring shows up in the bowl.

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Did the food coloring test. Definitely showed up in bowl.
Takes just about 10 minutes to trigger a refill.

I haven’t noticed the bowl filling up too much and for sure not flushing by itself. Does that indicate one thing or another?

You have a bad flapper, so start with that.

Changing out some multi turn shutoff valves from under my kitchen sink.
Being that they are soldered in, I'm going to cut it a bit below the solder and use some shark bite quarter-inch turn  fittings.

But forgot to pick up a Depth guide and a deburring tool (they come as 1 with shark bite.)

Curious if anyone here has one handy in Lakewood, New Jersey for me to borrow?
If not I'll just have to pick one up tomorrow.

was aiming to finish the job tonight that way I don't have to put the valves back on and some new washers.

The part I'm looking for is..

 @CountValentine
      What would you recommend?
Using a compression fitting? SharkBite fitting ? or standard soldered fitting?

Replacing the flapper definitely helped!

Strange thing happened after that the refill tube would continue to flow a bit after the tank was filled. I think I solved that by adjusting the length to make sure it was over the fill tube (not sure why this only started after I replaced the flapper)

All in all, toilet seems to be behaving now :)

Can I use teflon tape in place of an o-ring?

Meaning, I have two threaded connections that had an o-ring which busted from using tolls to tighten, can I use teflon tape in place or do I have to get a new o-ring?

Sounds to me like an o-ring should be better.
Try it out and see if it leaks

Didn't want to take off the sink after installing so just bought some new O rings and installed the sink.
I first put the Teflon tape on, but then realized that's probably not what I should be doing when the manufacturer had originally put O-rings.
Can't afford for it to leak.

And easy to access connection I would have tried to see if it would work.

Sorry I cant help but did want to comment. Most people would not consider anything to do with steam piping straightforward. Pipe lengths are very carefully measured to maintain pitch, so moving one is not trivial. Near boiler piping is about the only place most plumbers or installers know how to work on. If you do get it moved, make sure to have the boiler water skimmed afterwards to remove the oils from the dirt and the new pipe thread sealant that got in.

There is more to it. have toi pay attention to water levels etc and what the pipe you are looking to move. return vs feed. there are things that a handyman may not take into account and will move your line that will cause other problems that the Dead Men knew to avoid when they installed it.

Changing my car oil is pretty straight forward but I pay the right guy to do it and I dont tell him how to do it...
Doing a filling on a tooth is pretty straight forward but I always go to a dentist not a guy who does teeth...
Never tell a tradesman how to do the job or how easy the job is...

That's a bad example as it's actually quite easy to do.
Just a huge mess. Lol

It's not really the steam pipe that needs to be moved, it's the return pipe which comes out from the main stream line.

Don't know to much about this aspect of plumbing, but I have heard about boilers cracking as a result of improper piping.

Boiler will crack if there isnt enough water in it. To make a boiler crack, you have to have a whole series of events that take place.
