Actually, I do have limited access to the area through an access panel. What exactly would I need to fix there?

You should also have some access by removing the faucet handle and backplate.

I did see online someone mentioned the option of adding a valve to the shower head to prevent the rise from coming out, but I think I'd prefer to keep the look clean over having a valve above the shower head.

These 2 shower heads have built in valves

Delta Faucet Single-Spray Shower Head, Chrome 52652-PK ($31.97 )

Delta Faucet Single-Spray Shower Head, Chrome 52650-PK ($37.40 )

Feelings don't care about your facts

I'm experiencing "shower-rise" on a new bathroom install in the basement. When the tub faucet is turned on, some of the water is diverted to the shower head. So far I've tried removing the diverter spout altogether (to see if the diverter was causing the issue) and replacing the cartridge, both did not help. The guys that did the install used copper piping with Sharkbite fittings for the shower connections.

Is there anything else I can try shy of breaking open the wall?

This is the Shower Faucet: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Moen-Caldwell-Posi-Temp-174-Tub-Shower-in-Matte-Black/5005342337
Shouldn't the install guys fix the problem? Maybe it is the SharkBite fittings as they can restrict flow?
Sounds like the valve wasn't installed right.
Upside down?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Now I need to find it black to match the rest of the hardware..

In an ideal world yes, but they went above and beyond with a few other things so I don't feel like coming back to them with this issue.

I can only speak from personal experience. I would feel bad if I fixed something for someone and they didn't tell me if it wasn't working properly.

Agree. And, this is a pretty decent sized issue from a plumbing perspective.

In this case they finished the basement for me and encountered significant challenges that were not originally anticipated and did not come back or say a word about changing the original price. I do not have the heart to call them back about this relatively insignificant issue.

Replaced a leaking air valve on a steam system, the brand new valve is leaking as well. Is there anything else to look out for or is it just a faulty new valve?

Oy

Don't worry about it, buy 4 or 5 at one time. After one of them works, return the others. (BTW, I think that's part of the reason why so many on the shelf are defective)

not sure where you live but many plumbing stores have better brands like hoffman and gorton that have much better quality control and last a significant longer time then the home depot maid-o-mist brands lol also a cool valve that i started using is the varivalve (doesn't use the old style tech of a float to shut the valve) and its adjustable to help reduce hot spots

Thank you.
I never understood the idea of the adjustable ones. Is it just adjusting how big the hole is? If so how much slower will it fill up already?

Looking to buy new skirted or semi skirted toilets,
1) should have a good flush
2) not looking to spend a fortune

Any recommendations?

Kohler makes a decent one available in HD. About $250.

I have two-

One is an American Standard Cosette 1000722329. I don't think it's available anymore, but I'm sure they have a newer version. Good toilet, though when I bought it I think I saw some reviews that didn't like the curved shape of the seat. (There's nothing quite like reading toilet reviews.)

I think the other one that I have is this one. I wouldn't recommend it.

A few other things to note:

- Note that a one-peice concealed-trapway toilet can be heavy, and a pain in the neck to install because you have to get your hands in the small holes at the bottom to bolt it in. Your plumber may not be so happy. If you do it yourself just make sure to have a second person to help you lift it, and that you have a fine-toothed ratchet as you won't have much room to move a rench back and forth. Or better, if possible get some wing nuts and use those instead of regular nuts. That's what my plumber suggested.
- Beware that some shapes of toilets are unique, and it can be hard to find replacement toilet seats for some models.
- Pay attention to the height of the toilet. Most are not 'comfort height' which is a bit taller than standard. Might not be great if you have little kids (and some adults probably prefer lower too, וד״ל).

Question, not sure if it belongs here, in the handyman/DIY, or the pesach thread:

I have this sink:
https://www.peerlessfaucet.com/kitchen/product/p2935lf

I see that the handles and faucet can unscrew off the top, without needing to go into the "plumbing/gasket" connections underneath.
for pesach, I'd like to replace the actual faucet pipe (maybe also the handles, if not too complicated) instead of the standard boiling/covering. the original and parts seem pretty pricey.
are there knockoffs, or other types of faucets out there, that I can shop off amazon or something?

would other faucets screw on to the same base? or are they brand-unique?

I don't really understand what you are asking, you wrote about a sink however put a link to a faucet.
Are you looking to change the faucet for Peasach and are looking for something cheap, same style?

I am not sure what your question is. As far as I know, there is either 3 hole, which you seem to have, or 1 hole. You can get whatever you like to exchange it, as long as they're the same type. Some of the others here should be correct me if I'm wrong.
