Is this a good deal?

There is a $125 annual fee. Can you cancel and get it back?

I've never seen this one, it looks like a copy of Chase's Sapphire Preferred promo.

Are these Citi points just as good as Sapphire Preferred points?

But 1.3 for travel, makes it to 2.6 cents per dollar spent, thats really a great deal. especially that these flights are considered purchased flights.

Side incomer is right.  The only value is for flights.  But with the annual fee and the fact you cant transfer makes me want to wait for something greener.

check the prices for travel. spending your way to free travel is very hard and there are better cards for that

I just used 94,000 points for a $1250 overseas ticket and i will be receiving miles for flying. The upside to typ is that there is always availabilty and they are not reward tickets rather purchased tickets.

Also, some citi cc's offer 3 or 5 points for purchases. the premier retention will offer 5 points for 3 months for keeping it open.

Another benefit with this card is (if you fly alot) is the miles for flying.

It's a good deal for this card. think about it this way, your paying $125 for $500. but it all depends on what your looking for, overall there are better offers out there unless you've exhausted them.

Rumor on FT has it that there's a new 50k offer out, $2500 spend within 3 months.

Edit: Here's the linky.

i initially thought typ werent worth it bec its basically 1 point for 1 cent, even when u fly.

but then i made 3 flights that would have cost alot of money and realized its worth it.

there was a $700 flight that i made for 50,000 pts.
so firstly you get mileage and secondly those points were actually only about $20,000 in spending bec my points got doubled for flying miles and in gas and grocery u get more points.

also bec i thought it wasnt worth much, and i was working on 2 other spending thresholds, i didnt spend any money on the card in a few months. they then sent me an offer to get 5 pts per $ till nov.

a family member spent 80,000 pts to fly to south africa. she got elite status and was able to fly return and the rest of the yr in business.

and as said above there is no blackout dates.

on the cards i have now, u get one companion ticket a yr per card (au also get)
and unlimited 15% off any flight. u can book up to 4 ppl as long as the cardholder is flying

another great thing is even if u just charge the taxes from a mileage ticket to your card, u get all the flying points of that flight.
