Amazon Product Reviews - A Lot Of Fake Reviews
« on: October 24, 2017, 09:42:38 AM »
I always thought that Amazon is very strict with paying for reviews etc and I always thought I can comfortably buy something which had 4+ star reviews.

Recently I've been extremely disappointed, not only Amazon lets it, they do it on products which they sell on their own.

The way I spot it is very simple on every review you can see the reviewers profile with his recent reviews, almost each and every reviewer of these kind of products reviews 50 other items every single day!!! It seems like Amazon has a full operation of people who they send tons of stuff every day in exchange for 5 star reviews. For example the product below, each and every five star review is from people who review every day 50 other items. And usually those 50 items are the same by each person since they probably use the same people over and over...

Am I missing something?

I have found the same people coincidentally review these two questionable products..

The second item isn't sold by Amazon. Of course 3rd party seller's have the review thingy all the time.

The first item is sold by 2 3rd party seller's each that could have done the review thing.

The first item is primarily sold by Amazon. Either way, how does Amazon allow it? I mean almost each and every review is from these paid reviews.

Of course they dont allow it. How do you expect amazon to control this?
if you want to compete, report the seller and the reviews to amazon.

I never believe a 5 star rating. Some of the greatest stuff out there only have 4 1/2 stars.

Amazon doesn't do it, it's the 3p sellers.
Why aren't they caught yet? I don't know, but that's how Amazon rolls.

I saw a new product from a Chinese seller gather 3200 unverified reviews within a few weeks.
Amazon deleted all the reviews, but the product and seller were unaffected. Now the seller is back up to 350 unverified reviews a few days later.

Chinese sellers seem to get away with the stuff way too often.

Amazon has recently shut down sellers along with removing reviews.

I didn't say otherwise.
Just saying Amazon does as Amazon wishes and it's unexplainable why some sellers get suspended, some get reviews deleted, and some get away scot-free.

Unverified reviews is one issue. I'm talking about 700 reviews of actual verified purchases where if you look into it you will see major deception involved. Most of them were paid etc to buy and rate it.

Amazon has a legit review program called Amazon vine, where they receive money from companies and then give that company's products away to a group of people for free I'm exchange for a review.
That doesn't seem to be the case here, but they do have such a thing. Just putting it out there.

I know.
These are paypal reviews.
And as I said before

As it's Amazon's plan to eventually replace the American seller's with direct sales from the Chinese with FBA in the USA.

Was just sent a link to a product that has 401 reviews and all of them are 5 star.  Red flag?

(It’s lightning cables)

ETA: I just realized 32 of the first 40 reviews are under the same name.  I think I got my answer, lol.
