i applied for the 50k saphire card and was declined due to having an open saphire card already, customer service rep told me that even  if i cancel my old one i wont get the promo cuz its in the system that i had one when i applied.
any one had something like this ? 
any ideas how to get arond it ? or

I had regular Sapphire. They cancelled it for me and then I applied for the Sapphire Preferred and got the bonus.

That rep is full of BS.

I've seen reports of successful churns, as with any churns, YMMV.

any chances of getting it approved after they know im churning? what if i tell them straight out im doing it for the signup bonus?

No, I applied using the 50k saph pref link when my saph regular was still open, got denied, called Chase recon and they cancelled my saph regular and pushed through my saph pref with the bonus.
